  • 5 January 2024

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! I trust that you and your families had a wonderful holiday season filled with joy and warmth. As we step into the new year, I would like to extend my heartfelt wishes for a year ahead filled with growth, learning, and success for both our students and their families.

Teacher Professional Development:

I am pleased to inform you that our dedicated teaching staff utilized few days of the winter break effectively to engage in valuable Professional Development (PD) opportunities. The workshops and training sessions focused on incorporating innovative teaching methods, enhancing technology integration in the classroom, and fostering a more inclusive and engaging learning environment for our students. We believe that these efforts will have a positive impact on the overall academic experience of our students.

Parent-Teacher Conference:

We greatly appreciate the active participation of parents in our recent Parent-Teacher Conference. The collaborative discussions between teachers and parents are crucial for the academic success and holistic development of our students. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teachers or the school administration.

Success of Sports Days:

Our recent internal Sports Day Oaklympics and interschool Phoenix cup were a resounding success! It was heartening to witness the enthusiasm, teamwork, and sportsmanship displayed by our students. Congratulations to all the participants, and a special thank you to the parents who cheered on our young athletes. Your support is instrumental in fostering a positive and encouraging environment for our students to thrive.

CASnival:

Your participation and contributions have played a pivotal role in making the event a big success, and more importantly, in helping us raise funds for the noble cause we championed.Your generosity and commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others are truly inspiring. The funds collected during CASNIVAL will be instrumental in building smart classrooms and sanitation facilities at a government school through our collaboration with Yuva Unstoppable. The success of this fundraising initiative reflects the strength and unity of our school community, and for that, I am profoundly grateful.

Annual Parent Satisfaction Survey:

We would like to express our gratitude to all parents who took the time to complete our annual Parent Satisfaction Survey. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we continuously strive to enhance the overall educational experience at our school. We are carefully reviewing your inputs and will use it to make informed decisions for the betterment of our academic programs and school community.

Strengths:

I am pleased to share that our school has excelled in several areas, and these achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, and parents. Notably, we shine in the following areas:

1. Academic Excellence: Our students continue to demonstrate outstanding academic performance, showcasing a commitment to learning and a thirst for knowledge.
2. Technology-Enabled Teaching: We have successfully integrated technology into our teaching methods, creating an engaging and dynamic learning environment for our students. This has proven to be an asset in preparing them for the challenges of the digital age.

Areas for Enhancement:

While celebrating our strengths, we are also committed to addressing areas where improvement is needed. Your feedback and insights have been invaluable in identifying two key areas that require our attention:

1. Food Facility: We recognize the importance of a healthy and nutritious food facility for our students. To enhance this aspect, we are actively working on improving the quality and variety of food options, considering dietary preferences and nutritional needs. We appreciate your patience as we implement these positive changes.
2. Mid-Year Teacher Turnover in MYP segment: We understand the impact of teacher turnover on our students’ continuity of learning. To address this, we are implementing measures to support our teaching staff and minimize mid-year movement.

Your involvement in this journey is crucial, and we encourage you to share any further insights or suggestions you may have. Together, as a united school community, we can ensure a holistic and enriching educational experience for our students.

Upcoming CAS Trips in Senior School:

Our senior school students are eagerly anticipating upcoming Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) trips. These experiences play a vital role in their personal and academic growth. We believe that these trips will provide unique opportunities for students to develop new skills, form lasting friendships, and broaden their perspectives. Please look out the information pack that will be shared with all parents and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Oakridge Codefest and World Scholars Cup:

The 7th edition of our prestigious 24-hour inter-school hackathon Oakridge Codefest for secondary students will be held on the 20th & 21st of January. Please encourage your child to register for this event if they are coding enthusiasts.

However, if they prefer debating then please ask them to register for the Bangalore round of the World Scholar’s Cup. After participating in the regional round, teams may earn invitations to a Global Round and a special year-end conference at Yale University in the United States. Best wishes to all participants.

Once again, I extend my warm wishes for a prosperous and fulfilling new year. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in the education of your children.

Many thanks and kind regards
Pallavi Mishra
