Update from the Principal’s Desk | February 2025

  • 10 February 2025
Dear Parents,

I want to express my gratitude to all the parents who trusted the school with their children’s outstation trips. The comments I see after the trips reassure us that we have successfully maintained the trust to care for the students.

School trips offer an opportunity for our children to learn beyond the classroom, seeing places, experiences and activities that make up the schedule- what they actually learn is independence, sharing, collaboration, self management- some key skills that our students need for life, of course these are memories that will stay with them for life.

Kudos to our teachers for taking up this 24/7 responsibility for the students, ensuring they are safe and taken care of. We are extremely particular about risk assessment and the teams looked through all parts of the trip and deep dived to work on possibilities of risk to be well prepared and ensured the entire trip is well planned.

From selecting the places to visit to, sending information to parents, following up with ensuring they have all the documents in place. I feel genuinely proud and lucky to be working with a team of dedicated teachers who care. They really went over and above the protocol and I can’t thank them enough. We also have reflected on areas we can make this experience better for other trips.

Also, it was lovely to meet many of you at school last month when you came in for the student led conference, personal project exhibition, Sports day, Phoenix cup, and grade 5 orientation. Thanks to all the parents who have filled in the re-enrolment survey on school post. If you haven’t, please take the survey as it helps us plan our staffing needs for AY 25-26.

While our DP 2 and MYP 5 students have been engaged in assessments and meeting various deadlines, we also need to be mindful of giving them space to relax. Mental wellbeing is paramount to navigate adolescence and let us continue to support them by giving safe emotional spaces.

In our endeavor to continuously upskill our team, our early years to PYP 2 teachers spent time with Ms. Payal Sinha, an accomplished early years educator and consultant who worked and conducted training with the teachers to enhance classroom practices.

Upcoming Events

Last week in the teachers update, you must have seen a note about internships for our students. We invite you all to join hands and share if you can offer an internship to our students during summer. We want to grow our school as a strong community where we all work together to ensure our students get the best of opportunities.

Our Relay for Life walkathon still needs participation and request you to look into those notifications and sign up for the same.

Best regards,
Kavita Sukhani
