Update from Principal’s Desk – February 2026

  • 26 February 2026

Dear Oakridge Families,

From Sports and Performing Arts Showcase to Outstation Trips and Code Fest, and while keeping the academic learning strong through a variety of assessments, our students experience a range of opportunities that extend well beyond the classroom. What stands out for me is not just the variety of experiences but how these help shape our students’ life at school.

This year we saw a new version of secondary sports, with students getting to participate in multiple sports and sports‑related activities. This continued with our own interschool event Phoenix Cup, and our students participating in other interschool sports events. The Senior Code Fest completed its 9th year, and it’s always amazing to see the problems the students are trying to solve with the use of technology. Phoenix Cup and Code Fest are both student-led events; these events give our students an opportunity to hone their leadership and collaboration skills and nurture creativity while balancing academic learning.

No better way to strengthen peer relationships than travelling together. Our primary Outstation Trips to Wayanad and Sakleshpur were a great success. The parent notes after the trip are a beautiful testament to the trust and care the team puts in to ensure students have the best experiences.

Musical Extravaganza, the Early Years Performing Arts Showcase last week, was a treat to experience, with some of our youngest learners taking on the stage with fabulous performances. While we navigate through learning and other participation at the same time, we have an entrepreneurship competition; our annual Visual Arts Exhibition is coming up soon. Relay For Life is turning to be our annual event with its second year. I hope to see many students and families join us for the event this year as well.

The recent Coffee Mornings have been especially meaningful — they create a space for conversations, shared reflections, and deeper connection. It has truly been a pleasure meeting many of you, listening to your thoughts, and building this partnership together. Your voice helps us grow, and your trust enables us to continue shaping a school experience that supports every child holistically.

Warm regards,

Kavita Sukhani
