Update from the Principal’s Desk | April 2025
- 30 April 2025
We are at the last part of the academic year, a time for time for both reflection and planning for the year ahead. We recently finished with our Primary exhibition.
The primary corridor was buzzing with excitement paired with hard work as our grade 5 students are preparing for the PYP exhibition. The exhibition was the best approach to celebrate the culmination of PYP learning journey. The entire process from planning to execution brought in self-management, decision making, collaboration, communication and responsive skills in students. The students also experienced working with different mentors, teachers who are not their homeroom teachers, and parents who chose to volunteer to support.
We hope you all have received the important dates for academic year 2025-26. You must have also received information about the sibling discount that will be a year-on-year feature in our fee structure. As we plan for the new academic year, we are discussing innovative ways to enhance our student experience at school. Given that we have a large cohort of students interested in MUN, we will be hosting the NAE Asia region MUN at our school in September 2025, this of course makes our OAK MUN international.
During spring break, two of our teachers and two students visited Northbridge International School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, one of our Nord Anglia schools. Our goal was to strengthen our connection with the school, attend their MUN to better understand its structure, and share experiences while learning from the teaching and learning practices at the school. The team returned with a treasure of learning. These are just a few steps we’re taking to maximize the benefits of being part of the Nord Anglia network.
April marks the final month of school for our DP 2 graduating students, who have certainly navigated a rollercoaster of college applications, IB submissions, and pre-assessments, and are now focused on their final examinations.
I cannot conclude this note without expressing my gratitude for the support and involvement of the entire school community in making Relay for Life a successful event. A special thanks to our sponsors and parents who spent the night with us at school.
As you plan for summer break, stay tuned for more information about our Summer School @ Oakridge, happening in June 2025.
Warm Regards, Kavita Sukhani
