Bisman, a Grade 9 student of our school received the Top Performance Medal at Innoventure- India’s First national-level Ideation and Entrepreneurship Challenge. Innoventure is a challenge to encourage entrepreneurship and ideation in school students in Grades 4 to 9. This year, the event was entirely virtual. She designed a website, which will solve the challenges faced by daily wage laborers.

After on-ground research Bisman found that daily wage laborers are struggling the most since the beginning of the pandemic, and are not able to meet their day-to-day needs due to the nature of their work. So, she created a website named ‘Here to Help!’ that acts as a common platform for the workers to display their job profiles, for employers to hire daily wage labourers, as a fundraiser for the needy, and a listing of NGOs working in the same field.

Bisman quotes “I have always been very interested when it comes to designing webpages or creating websites, and we had recently learned about the same in the ICT class at school. So, I thought of availing the opportunity provided by Innoventure for a cause and helping the daily wage labourers.”

She adds that the website is in draft format as of now and will be rolled-out in the upcoming months.

Principal, Ms. Ramanjit Ghuman quotes “We are ambitious for our students and we offer varied opportunities so that our students can hone their skills. Our endeavor is that children should be the best that they can.”

The story was covered by various eminent newspapers of the region.
