Middle Years Programme

As your child transitions into their middle years of schooling, we enrich their growth academically and socially

As your child’s education at Oakridge International School continues, they will broaden their study whilst expanding their minds.

The IB Curriculum enables students to confidently transition from primary education to the CBSE or IGCSE Programme and develops the skills and confidence your child will need to thrive. Our curricula at middle year builds on your child’s knowledge and gives them the tools and confidence to critique what they hear and see, and to embark on their own learning outside of the classroom.

The CBSE programme from Grades 6th – 12th is a balanced mix of practical experience and theoretical knowledge. Through the CBSE curriculum, we help improve your child’s learning performance by developing skills in creative thinking, enquiry and problem-solving. The aim of the curriculum is to expand the student’s knowledge of a wide range of subjects, while encouraging them to analyse and make connections between them. At Oakridge International School, Mohali we ensure we offer the greatest opportunities to your child with a variety of routes for your child with a wide range of abilities.

As your child’s education at Oakridge International School, Mohali continues, they will broaden their minds ensuring student development:

  • To use ideas and information through case studies, projects, group work, simulation, debate and discussion.
  • To generate ideas and evidence through lateral thinking, mind mapping, research projects and creative visualisation
  • To plan and manage their own learning through reflective logs, independent study, dissertations, work placement and portfolio development
  • To test ideas and evidences through seminars, presentations, literature reviewing, and peer assessments.

Broadly the subjects taught to the Middle Years Programme provide students with learning objectives to ensure a base of knowledge in each area of study. In this way Oakridge affirms the dynamic pattern of the three stages – inquiry, action, and reflection as essential relationships found in every unit of study. Your child will learn to apply techniques learned in one subject to several others, and will be able to learn at a pace that they find comfortable. They will receive personalised attention from our skilled and caring teachers.
