Principal’s Desk Update – October 2023

Dear Parents

Greetings!

As we move further into the academic year, I am pleased to provide you with an update on the recent developments and important events at our school.

Educational World Rankings 2023-24:

I am delighted to share some wonderful news with you. Our school has achieved an outstanding rank in the recently announced Education World – All India Rankings in the International day cum boarding schools category securing a place in the prestigious “Top 20 – India”. We are also awarded the prestigious titles of #1 in Visakhapatnam and #1 in Andhra Pradesh. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedicated team effort of our staff and school, and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to our parents for their unwavering support in making this possible.

Term 1 Examinations:

We have successfully completed Term 1 examinations for Grade 10 and Grade 12. I would like to express my appreciation to the parents who attended our recent PESM to discuss these results. We will continue to engage in meaningful conversations with all parents to ensure your child’s success. Term 1 examinations are currently in progress for all other grades. We encourage our students to stay focused and give their best effort. We will be sending you the schedule of the Parent-Educator-Student Meeting, and I urge you to attend these meetings as they are crucial for planning and developing the action plan for the upcoming term.

Autumn Break:

The Autumn break is scheduled from October 21st to October 29th. School will reopen on October 30th. We hope our students and their families enjoy this well-deserved break.

Equity Diversity Inclusion – Student ambassadors:

Our student committee, comprised of EDI student ambassadors from Grade 9 and Grade 11, is actively driving activities according to the EDI calendar, led by our EDI champion. We are proud of their dedication to promoting equity diversity and inclusion.

Career Counselling and University Fair:

We are excited to announce the University Fair scheduled for October 18th, featuring over 50 Indian and foreign universities from the US, UK, Europe, India and China. This event will provide valuable insights into higher education opportunities. Our recent mini fair was a great success, with 14 top-ranking universities from Australia, UK ,US and Italy,  participating.

Community Outreach Program:

As part of our social impact initiatives, our students from Grade 11 and Grade 12 visited ZP High School, Chandrampalem, to educate young girls about menstrual health and hygiene. We are committed to breaking the stigma surrounding this topic and donated sanitary kits to support their well-being.

Wellbeing and Safeguarding:

We have focused on student safety and mental health in the past two weeks. For grades 2 and 3, we conducted a “Good Touch-Bad Touch” session, reinforcing personal boundaries. In the secondary grades, we organized a special assembly for World Mental Health Day and provided support. Our student counsellors placed affirmation notes on the staff’s desks to promote a positive environment.

Sports Achievements:

Our students have excelled in sports, with some being selected for the SGFI state level in Taekwondo, Lawn Tennis and Swimming. Also, our girls’ and boys’ basketball teams are gearing up for the CBSE clusters.

Upcoming Trips:

From October 25th to October 29th, 40 students and 4 teachers will embark on the STEMPACT trip to Singapore. We wish them a safe and enriching experience. Moreover, a group of 10 students, accompanied by our STEAM lead, will participate in the STEM regional festival in Nord Anglia International School Dubai from the 15th to the 18th of this month.

IBDP Success:

Our team of 5 IBDP students reached the finals and secured the Third Place in the University of Melbourne- Faculty of Business and Economics Case Competition. This is a remarkable achievement, and we are proud of their hard work.
