Dear Parents

I hope you are doing well.

October has been a happening month for our school. Though we are not yet open for our students of grade Nursery – 4 but it has been an absolute delight to have the Early year students come in to meet their teachers and visit the school along with their families.

What has been the highlight, other than the sheer delight of meeting our young Oakridgers, is the evidence that learning remained uninterrupted at Oakridge Mohali. The power of our Virtual School Experience was evident. It was a moment of pride for us to see the children read so well and showcase their learning in numeracy as well as their awareness of the concepts done in UOI. The joy with which they participated in the PE, music, art and dance engagements gives us immense satisfaction – our students are making progress. It just goes to show that our inquiry driven concept based IB PYP curriculum is enhancing learning.

We were very fortunate that we had a week-long visit by Mr. Brian Cooklin, MD Nord Anglia Education India. His presence enriched our school. While he was here, he interacted with students, parents and conducted training sessions for our teachers and staff. He also conducted a session for parents of grade 8-10, familiarizing them with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). I am extremely proud and excited to share with you that there will be an International Pathway of learning for our students as we aim to bring in the IBDP programme as a next step post grade 10. The DP programme will set the foundation for preparing our students for life beyond school – college placements and learning.

The school is abuzz with preparation for the Annual Concert. Keeping safety in mind we are going to have the presentation in the Virtual mode. The theme so resonates with the times – H.E.A.L (Humanity. Empathy. Accountability. Love) the World. Please block your calendar for Saturday, 23 October 2021. I urge all parents who have children in grade 2 – 10, please encourage your child to use the AI Century Tech programme. This programme is an exceptional programme of international repute and has a proven record of helping students attain and enhance their learning. In case you have problem logging in then do connect with your child’s class teacher.

October is also a month of festivity. I wish each one of you and your family a very happy Dussehra. May the world be blessed with happiness, peace and prosperity.
