Why Entrepreneurship Should Begin in School and How We Cultivate It at Oakridge

  • 3 December 2025

In this ever-changing world, the definition of success revolves around many elements. Especially when it comes to your child, success is much more than scoring good grades. It should be an amalgamation of creativity, critical thinking, and inquiry where the ideas come to life.

Here at Oakridge International School, we prioritise entrepreneurial education right from early years. This equips students with critical skills for their future.

Why Start Entrepreneurship in School?

The sooner students are introduced to entrepreneurial thinking, the more equipped they are for future challenges. Entrepreneurship education offers benefits beyond just starting a business but also shapes their mindset. While others find problems in many situations, students at Oakridge Gachibowli learn to view them as opportunities.

What Skills Students Gain Through Entrepreneurship

  • Creativity: A skill to think beyond the structured patterns to come up with innovative solutions.
  • Leadership: The ability to inspire others with a common objective in mind.
  • Resilience: Understanding that failure serves as a critical pathway towards success.
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to tackle real-life problems with confidence and a thoughtful strategy.

At this best international school in Gachibowli, we believe that the future belongs to those who can adapt quickly, collaborate effectively, and think creatively. Regardless of what career path your child wants to take, these skills act as a catalyst towards innovation and creativity, and what you can bring to the table. At Oakridge International School, we incorporate entrepreneurship in their learning process.

Here’s how we bring entrepreneurial thinking to Oakridge International School:

  • School Clubs and Projects: Students are encouraged to be a part of creative projects. Along with that they also initiate or get involved in clubs to learn and improve the skills associated with teamwork and collaboration. At Oakridge Gachibowli, we have over 40 clubs that students have come up with over the years.
  • Casnival: This is a yearly event where the students put up stalls and the funds collected from it go to one of the SDGs.
  • Guest Speakers & Startup Fairs: Industry experts and education leaders are often invited as speakers to inspire young minds about leadership and entrepreneurship.
  • Negotium: This a shark-tank-inspired event. Here students pitch their startup ideas and learn how to have a holistic approach towards creativity, innovation and enquiry.
  • NAE-UNICEF Summits: Students get an opportunity to experience the real United Nations summit while understanding the global issues.
  • TEDx Talks: Students are encouraged to take part in TEDx talks on diverse topics through a chosen theme. This helps them showcase and improve their public speaking skills.
