How cutting-edge technology in schools enhances a child’s overall development

  • 11 August 2025

At Oakridge International School, Gachibowli, technology isn’t just a tool, it’s a gateway to creativity, critical thinking, and personalised learning. As one of Hyderabad’s first fully digitally enabled schools, Oakridge is leading the way in integrating cutting-edge EdTech to prepare students for success in a rapidly evolving world.

Smart classrooms that spark curiosity

Every classroom at Oakridge is armed with digital IBT boards, transforming traditional learning into interactive experiences. “Teachers can monitor the student engagement through interactive quizzes and games,” explains Ms. Nazia Mohammad, EdTech Head, OISG. These smart boards also provide seamless access to a wealth of digital learning resources, making lessons more engaging and effective.

From junior to senior grades, students benefit from a range of devices tailored to their learning needs. “Implementing a variety of Ed-Tech tools in class is convenient through the iPads which are used as a shared resource for junior school students and the senior students using their own laptops or the systems provided in the fully equipped ICT labs,” says Ms. Nazia.

Personalised learning through AI

Oakridge’s approach to technology goes beyond hardware. The school embraces artificial intelligence to support both teaching and learning. Ms. Nazia explains that AI powered Technology has made a breakthrough in identifying learning gaps and creating personalised learning paths for students based upon their level of understanding, so that each student attains their maximum learning potential.

One standout example is CENTURY Tech, an AI-powered platform that adapts to each learner’s needs. CENTURY creates constantly adapting pathways for students and powerful assessment data for teachers hence saving their time to identify the learning gaps.

Generative AI tools are also part of the teaching toolkit. “Generative AI tools are regularly used by teachers to prepare their lessons, creating customised study materials, worksheets, and tracking students’ performance. Thus, saving ample time of teachers that can be effectively used for better student training,” mentions Ms. Nazia.

Creativity meets technology

Technology at Oakridge isn’t just about academics, it’s a canvas for imagination. Students use tools like Canva to design infographics, presentations, and brochures for their projects.
In Grade 5, students showcased their creativity through a blend of tech platforms. Ms. Nazia expressed, “Students…present and communicate their ideas and projects through animated graphics and games created with Scratch coding, 3D Designs using Tinkercad, and infographics through Canva for the promotions.”

The school’s 3D printing machine adds another layer of innovation. Students apply textures, colors, and materials to create their designs in such tools, thus fostering creativity and enhancing their creative thinking skills.

Empowering language learning

Language education at Oakridge is equally tech-forward. Ms Nazia shares, “Education Perfect was another EdTech platform implemented at our school for languages to empower educators, enabling teachers to personalise learning at scale with a range of powerful learning, assessment, and insights tools.”

Students also explore intelligent tutoring systems like ChatGPT, Socratic, and Gemini. Ms Nazia adds: “These powerful AI tools have also proven to be the great research tools for the students with quick references.”

Preparing for the future

Oakridge is committed to preparing students for a digitally-driven world. Technology learning is enabled at Oakridge right from Early Years where students are using interactive tools to create and present their work with creative liberty.

The school blends technology into everyday learning while also offering dedicated tech classes. Technology is blended with education for learners besides conducting standalone technology classes for students where they learn and understand the core software tools and core concepts of technology.

Looking ahead, Oakridge is embracing emerging trends like augmented and virtual reality. Ms Nazia notes, “With the augmented reality and virtual reality, practical learning and experiential learning is convenient, creating an immersive experience for the students, making their learning process more enjoyable and retainable.”

By encouraging participation in events like the Innovation Exhibition, STEM Summit, and World Robotics Olympiad, Oakridge ensures that students are not just tech-savvy but future-ready. Creating and providing avenues for its students to participate in competitions…cultivates the culture of digital learning on continuous basis.
