December brought a wave of prestige to Oakridge Bengaluru. We are thrilled to announce that Oakridge International School Bengaluru secured the 2nd Rank among Top IB Curriculum Schools at the Times Education Excellence Awards 2025. This was followed by another stellar achievement: being ranked No. 2 in Bengaluru and Karnataka in the Top 20 International Schools category by Education Today, a result determined by jury ratings and over 131,000 parent votes. We were also honored by Insighte at St. Joseph’s University, where we received the Inclusive Education Leadership Award 2025.
Our Grade 1 and 2 students took to the stage for Symphorica, a vibrant showcase of music and dance. The performance carried a vital message: the importance of conserving our plants, wildlife and natural resources. Students delighted the audience dressed as various flora and fauna, bringing biodiversity to life and inspired them with the powerful message of protecting our global biodiversity. It was a beautiful example of how art can be used to bring about meaningful change in our world.
Our students have excelled across every discipline this month. In sports, Aarya (PYP 4) captained the Indian team to victory at the Thailand International Youth Cup, while our Taekwondo team brought home the Champions Trophy and 13 medals from the State-level Rajyotsava Cup. In the arts, Sinduja (MYP 5) performed a stunning Arangetram debut, and Sahasra (M5) was named 1st Runner-Up for Miss Teen Andhra Pradesh. Academic excellence shone bright as Sarah (PYP 4) ranked 6th in India at the National Debate Competition, and our PYP debate teams secured their third consecutive win in the Global Campus Debate Competition against Prague British International School.
To ensure we continue providing a world-class campus experience, three of our staff members Mr. Jayan, Ms. Nancy, and Mr. Vinay attended the Nord Anglia ‘COLLABORATE 2025’ SEAI ME Conference in Swiss International School Dubai. This three-day event brought together leaders from across the region to brainstorm the future of school operations. From workshops across IT, Marketing, HR, Operations and Finance, and AI usage to enhancing safeguarding and family portals, the sessions provided invaluable insights. Our team returned with fresh ideas and global best practices that will help us continue to improve the Oakridge experience for all our students and parents.
The campus was filled with laughter and holiday magic during our pre-break celebrations. Spirit Week saw students and staff alike dressing up for Adam Sandler Day, Twin Day, and Jersey Day. A misty December morning set the perfect scene for our Secret Santa exchanges, where surprise gifts and notes spread joy across the halls. From the students vs. transport staff cricket match, and the carol renditions, to the fashion walk by our Lady Guard akkas, the Christmas cheer was on full display. We closed the month by decorating our Christmas tree with hand-painted charms, heading into the winter break with hearts full of festive spirit! 🎄
