October at Oakridge was a month brimming with learning, celebration, and adventure! The month began with Dussehra festivities and an exciting Inter-House Dance Competition that showcased creativity and teamwork. Classrooms were abuzz with exploration — from puzzle-solving and Inclusion Day reflections to Sports Day practices that strengthened coordination and perseverance. Diwali celebrations added sparkle, with students painting diyas, creating rangoli, and staff joining in with a festive fashion show, treats, and gifts. Adding to the month’s highlights, our MYP learners set out on enriching educational trips — from Hampi and Goa to DP1’s ongoing trip to Port Blair — exploring culture, history, and nature beyond the classroom.
October was a significant month as we had the pleasure of welcoming our Regional Director of Education, Mr. Inderjit Dehal, to Oakridge Bengaluru. Over three engaging days, he interacted with students, staff, and parents, sharing his appreciation and constructive insights. He commended our beautiful campus, noting its vibrant energy and welcoming atmosphere. In his words: “The students I met during the visit were hugely impressive — articulate, principled, and proactive. They are the best evidence of what the school is doing well.” We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Senior Leadership Team for their dedicated efforts in preparing and presenting the school review. While our academic results have shown steady improvement, Mr. Dehal’s visit reinforced that our goal is to ensure every student and parent enjoys a great experience through continuous enhancement. Moving forward, we will continue to strengthen pedagogy that brings ATLs to life, fosters student agency, and nurtures inquiry-driven learning across all grades.

Our PYP 2 learners start each morning by taking ownership through Self-Registration — marking their own attendance as soon as they step into the classroom. Our recent PYP Class Assemblies were a vibrant celebration of the IB Learner Profile, which lies at the heart of our students’ learning journey. These gatherings were a testament to how our children are not only acquiring knowledge but also developing the attributes that shape them into thoughtful, principled, and globally minded individuals. Throughout the assemblies, our young learners brought the learner profile to life through thoughtful skits, reflective speeches, and creative presentations. Their performances beautifully illustrated how they are growing into compassionate and responsible members of our learning community. A highlight of each assembly was the recognition of students who consistently demonstrated the chosen learner profile attribute in their everyday school life. These students were celebrated not just for their accomplishments, but for the values they embody—whether it was showing empathy to a friend, taking initiative in group activities, or demonstrating resilience in the face of challenges. We are incredibly proud of each one of them.

The staff was all set for a fun-filled activities designed to bring laughter, colour, and connection across our community through Diya Painting, Laddoo Khaaooge competition, Chinese Whisper, and Ramp Walk with good food & dance to wrap up the celebration! Our teachers and staff lit up the day in their best festive traditional outfits, adding sparkle and colour to the Diwali celebration! At Oakridge, we truly believe in the power of togetherness — bringing our staff community closer through festivals and celebrations that nurture joy, connection, and well-being. Halloween celebrations were at their spooktacular best! Our young EYP and PYP learners came dressed in creative costumes and proudly walked in the Halloween parade. From eerie expressions to cheerful smiles, every child embraced their character with confidence — and, of course, was camera-ready! A special mention to our wonderful parents and teachers for their enthusiasm, creativity, and support in making the celebration truly magical. Your efforts brought the event to life and filled the day with joy, laughter, and community spirit. It was the perfect way to wrap up the month — full of excitement, colour, and festive spirit that truly brightened the season.
Our talented Oakridgers have danced their way to success, securing Second Prize in the Dance Competition at the Regional Round of the Furtados School of Music Band-It Festival — India’s largest inter-school performing arts competition! The journey was truly inspiring — from receiving their qualification confirmation just two days before, to training intensively with their dance teacher, Mr. Joshua, in that short time, and finally bringing home the win! A huge congratulations to our incredible students and their mentor for their dedication, passion, and teamwork. You’ve made the entire Oakridge community proud!
