Beyond Marks: Behind Oakridge Visakhapatnam’s 2025 Board Results

  • 4 June 2025

What if we judged success not just by scores, but by the stories behind them?

Every summer, a set of numbers arrive — marksheets, grades, rankings. But behind every number lies a story — of late-night revisions, quiet panic, “I can’t do this” moments, and tiny wins no one noticed.

At Oakridge International School, Visakhapatnam, the 2025 CBSE and IGCSE results weren’t just about high scores. They told a story of resilience, support, and growth.

This year, our students didn’t just prepare for exams — they navigated pressure, comparison anxiety, and the daily tug-of-war between doing more and resting enough. When the results came in, they reflected not just academic achievement, but grit, clarity, and consistency.

A Snapshot of Our IGCSE and CBSE 2025 Results

  • CBSE Grade 10: Kandula Anushka Venkata topped with 484/500, followed by boarding student Arav Pandey with 478/500.
  • CBSE Grade 12: Boarding student Ashutosh Samantaray scored 442/500, closely followed by Srikar Siripurapu with 439/500 — both showcasing determination and focus.
  • Inclusive Education: Oakridge’s inclusive ethos shone through with three neurodiverse students scoring 76%, 71%, and 61% in Grade 12 CBSE.
  • IGCSE Grade 10: Zubein Hashmi achieved a perfect 8 A*s, while Aanya Veeramachneni earned 6 A*s and 2 As.

But these aren’t just toppers. They’re students who bounced back, redefined success, and kept showing up — especially on the hard days.

More Than Just Marks

One of our CBSE Grade 12 toppers, Srikar, captured the essence of the Oakridge experience in his valedictory speech:

“If these walls could talk, they’d probably tell the story of my entire childhood. This school hasn’t just been where I studied – it’s where I grew up… And none of this would’ve been possible without our teachers. You saw potential in us, even when we didn’t see it in ourselves…And if I may take a moment to speak personally – I want to thank someone who has been my rock through everything: my father. Nanna, your strength, your sacrifices, and your unwavering belief in me have been the foundation on which I’ve built my dreams.”

His words remind us that beyond every mark and every rank is a story of family, mentorship, and the quiet determination to keep going. They echo what marksheets cannot — the bonds that shape us, the safety of a school that feels like home, and the lessons that last long after the textbooks are closed.

What Helped Them Succeed

As the top international school in Visakhapatnam, Oakridge believes that learning isn’t one-size-fits-all. We focus on personalised, holistic education. Whether it’s mental health support, flexible learning methods, or a teacher who truly listens, success isn’t accidental. It’s built on trust, reflection, and consistent encouragement.

For Grade 10 topper Anushka, success came not just from long hours, but from a smart, balanced approach:

“What helped me the most in preparing for the board exams was stopping myself from worrying unnecessarily… I started studying in a way that worked for me — speaking topics out loud like I was teaching them, reading ahead, revising regularly, and asking teachers for help whenever I had doubts. I didn’t force myself when I was tired. Instead, I focused on studying smarter, not harder.”

Her reflection shows that mindset and method go hand in hand — and that when students feel supported, they thrive.

When 21.5% of IGCSE students score A*-A, or when students with diverse learning needs graduate with confidence, it speaks volumes about a learning environment that nurtures not just academics but emotional intelligence, resilience, and independence.

And in today’s world — where adaptability and empathy are as valuable as subject knowledge — that foundation makes all the difference.

For Parents and Future Students: What We’ve Learned

If you’re a parent asking, “How do I prepare my child for board exams?” or “What should I really look for in a school?”, here are a few takeaways from this year’s journey:

  • Early, balanced preparation beats last-minute stress.
  • Mental well-being support is non-negotiable.
  • Students excel when they feel seen, heard, and supported, not just scored.
  • The right school builds both academic strength and self-belief.

What Lies Ahead

These students will go on to pursue liberal arts, medicine, science, business — some in India, others abroad. But wherever they go, they carry more than just results. They carry self-belief, discipline, and the memory of what it took to get here.

Because at Oakridge Visakhapatnam — the leading international day-cum-boarding school in Andhra Pradesh — academic excellence is just the beginning. The real goal? To shape young people who don’t just chase scores, but who chase meaning, purpose, and the courage to try again.
