As we step into November, Oakridge International School, Mohali, continues to move ahead on its path of learning, celebration, and gratitude. November is a month of cultural celebrations, educational landmarks, and opportunities to explore, develop, and grow our learners’ intellectual and human-sensitive sides.

Dear Parents

As we reach towards November, we embrace the vibrant colours of autumn and look forward to the opportunities this month brings. It is a time of growth and renewal, with nature’s beauty serving as a reminder of the many exciting possibilities ahead.

Celebrating Academic Excellence

We are thrilled to share some fantastic news with our Oakridge community. For the tenth consecutive year, Oakridge Mohali has secured 1st place in the Education World National School Rankings 2025 for International Day Schools in Mohali!

Also, Oakridge International School, Mohali, has been ranked No. 2 in Punjab, under the category Top 10 Day Schools (International Curriculum – IB/Cambridge International), in the Education World Awards 2025. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible community—this achievement speaks volumes about your unwavering support and trust.

Celebrating Student Achievements

The Halloween Costume Parade was another highlight, with students from Primary and Early Years classes showing off a variety of imaginative costumes. From friendly ghosts and witches to superheroes and fairytale characters, the colourful outfits filled the school with energy and excitement.

Upcoming Events

Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti Celebration

The spiritual reflection and festivity start with the month by celebrating Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti on 4th November. Students will have special congregations to celebrate the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji – to accept the values of compassion and unity and truth.

World Kindness Day

On November 13, our Oakridgers will observe World Kindness Day through small gestures of care and serving the community. Students will also learn and adapt with the help of discussions, reflections, and creative expressions that even the smallest gestures of kindness can make a significant difference.

Children’s Day & Night Camp

An event that is highly anticipated and bound to bring joy and enthusiasm is the National Children’s Day, which will be held on 14 November. Students in the 4th to 12th grades will attend the Night Camp, and those in the Primary Years program will show their athletic spirit at the Athletics Meet. The Early Years cohort celebrates up to 15 November, and it is the best mix of fun, physical activities, and friendship.

World Children’s Day & Inter-House Poetry Competition

Learners will mark World Children’s Day on the 20th of November through a set of interactive activities and reflective debates. The Inter-House English Poetry Competition in grades 4 to 12 will also be held during the day, as a channel of expression of creativity, confidence, and linguistic superiority.

Academic Term Milestones

Starting on 24 November will be the priority of the academic calendar with the introduction of Pre-Boards in Grade 10 (CBSE and CAIE), Grade 12, and the IBDP Mock 1. We applaud their hard work and endurance as they are ready to show their knowledge, skill, and conceptual understanding.

Progress Parade

Our Grade 2 learners will take the spotlight on 27th November, presenting their Progress Parade — a joyful demonstration of inquiry-based learning, communication skills, and booming confidence. Every presentation is the presence of the spirit of exploration that characterizes an IB learner.

Parent Orientations & Curriculum Sessions

The month will conclude with Curriculum Orientation on 29 November for Grades 6 and 8, and a PYP Exhibition Parent Orientation. Such sessions enhance the collaboration between parents and the school, as well as give an idea of the academic routes that will propel our learners.

As always, we greatly appreciate your support and engagement throughout the academic year. We look forward to the many exciting events still to come this month and the continued success of our students.

Warm regards,
Suman Kalra
