Dear Oakridge Community,
I am thrilled to have our students back on campus with the newfound energy, excitement, and the will to start the second half of the academic year. The laughter, enthusiasm, and eager discussions that has filled our hallways over the past few days seem like a fantastic reminder of the energizing culture that epitomizes Oakridge.
While looking forward, I anticipate July to be a busy month overflowing with beneficial learning activities and experiences across all grade levels.
Starting July 14th, “The Spectrum Within” was the guiding theme for the students and as expected, it reflected so beautifully.
Each day brought something new:
Monday – Pyjamas Party, Twinning Tuesday followed, Dream Profession Day, and last but not least, Bollywood Bash Friday.
These weren’t merely dress up days, but characterization, community, and civil artistry.
Discover how a career shift from IT to teaching at Oakridge International School Mohali led to a fulfilling journey in IB PYP and early childhood education.
The most positive transformations in life often begin in the most unexpected ways. I never imagined I would trade the structured, analytical world of IT for the dynamic, curiosity-driven environment of IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) learners. Yet, stepping into the vibrant classrooms of Oakridge International School, Mohali—a leading international school in Mohali—has been one of the most fulfilling choices of my life.
Over 25th and 26th the learners were given the chance to experience the world of diplomacy in OAKMUN 2025, and it was jam packed with educational activities. The theme “Silhouettes of Change” was focused on global transitions, leadership and conflict resolution.
The quality of the discussions was very inspiring, and the closing ceremony acknowledged the outstanding work of many. It wasn’t just a conference—it was a powerful exercise in leadership and empathy.
The crescendo of excitement reached its peak with the inter-house football competition grand finale which took place on the 30th of July. The stadium was filled with the robust chants and cheers of Pascal, Picasso, Shakespeare, and Mozart houses as they clashed on the field showcasing their unparalleled sportsmanship and skill.
The final match was the epitome of sportsmanship. It was unforgettable and full of life, aflow with raw emotion. It served as a reminder that even though only one house receives the opportunity to lift the coveted trophy, all participants emerge as winners when they opt to play with heart and civility.
This month, EYP and PYP parents were welcomed to take part in the IB inquiry workshop where we were able to look back on the learning journey their children have been on since the start of this session. Daily milestones of our young IB learners were shared by class teachers and were carefully related to their current units of inquiry and the shaping of the key IB learner attributes. The session provided valuable information on how the children are developing as thinkers, communicators and inquirers. Special thanks to all the parents who attended–it was great to have you involved and made the experience even more memorable.
This month we had the honor to congratulate our toppers in the CBSE, IGCSE and IBDP boards. The Academic Excellence Ceremony was an emotional moment with emotional speeches, proud parents, and shining students that highlighted how determination and motivation are the road to success. We congratulate all our awardees on their hard work- and we appreciate the teachers and families that helped them in their journey.
On July 28, the Book Bank Drive was a considerate movement of our Grade 4 learner, Siara, as a student-led CAS initiative. As a part of the World Nature Conservation Day, the drive helps our community donate books and develop young minds. At Oakridge, we pride ourselves in enabling students to become purpose-driven leaders and this initiative is a bright example of such spirit in practice.
Earlier this month, Oakridge successfully hosted the Global University Fair 2025, bringing together representatives from over 80 renowned universities worldwide, including Ivy League institutions.
Students from Grades 9 to 12 engaged in one-on-one interactions, explored scholarship opportunities, and gained valuable insights into global academic pathways. The event empowered our learners to make informed decisions about their futures and reinforced our commitment to college and career readiness.
Tiny Explorers in Tranquil Trails
Our tiny explorers enjoyed a sensory-rich visit to the Japanese Garden, taking in nature’s colors, shapes, and serenity. A peaceful and stimulating day for our youngest learners.
Where Civics Meets Concrete
Our budding change-makers explored Chandigarh’s Capitol Complex, linking their classroom learning about governance and systems with real-world architecture and civic function.
