Oakridge International School, Mohali celebrated the successful completion of 100 days of Nursery. Accompanied by their parents, learners of Nursery gave a testament of the knowledge acquired via hands-on experiences and fun based learning activities. It was a momentous occasion for everyone and Oakridge’s took the opportunity to commemorate it through a grand celebration fit for the occasion.

The innovative pedagogy that ensures transformative learning was showcased. Parents were equal partners and engaged in all the learning centers. There were activities such as sorting shapes into appropriate bundles, naming the respective sounds by looking at the letters, or counting the quills on a clay hedgehog, and more. Learners also participated in activities such as dance, creative play, music, and singing. Without fail the most sought after activity was the games set up by the Physical Education facilitators.

It was a day filled with fun and frolic for everyone. While the learners explored the various activities the parents re-lived their childhood through the joyful squeals being heard all around. One parent quoted, “the vibe here is very positive and I feel it is one of my life’s best decision to send my child to Oakridge International School, Mohali.”

The day ended with a coffee meeting with the principal, Ms. Ramanjit Ghuman. During the coffee meet the parents interacted with the Principal to partner in their child’s learning journey. Many parents seemed truly amazed at their child’s learning and knowledge. In the words of not one but two parents, “We are amazed at the vocabulary our children are using and the amount of knowledge they have acquired in a short span of time.”

It was a splendid day with a bright and beautiful weather, fit for a grand celebration! All in all, it was a day of making memories for the learners and of reliving their childhood for the parents and facilitators.
