Update From Principal’s Desk – April 2026

  • 2 April 2026

Dear Parents,

April has ushered in excitement and renewed focus and energy on our campus. The new academic calendar has started on 01 April, a positive and encouraging event. In the next few weeks, our school community is going to sustain positive energy on campus and execute meaningful learning and student leadership activities, and celebrations aligned to our school’s mission and vision.

Building Leadership in Early Years and Primary

Learners in the Early Years and Primary Programmes will start gaining confidence and a sense of responsibility, and awareness of the world. The Student Council nominations opened on 06 April which will be the first step to a leadership and service role for the nominees, and the campaign and interview process of that role will take place on 13 April. Students will be able to have a supportive environment to express and advocate their ideas.

Celebrating Global Awareness and Wellbeing

The upcoming weeks will intend to focus on well-being, sustainability, and literacy. Our students will have the opportunity to engage in activities relating to healthy living and emotional well-being for World Health Day on April 7. To sustain a culture of caring for Mother Earth, our students will participate in activities in class for World Earth Day on April 22. Lastly World Book and Copyright Day will encourage our students to celebrate literacy and express their creativity, and our students will be celebrating the power of stories across age groups on April 23.

Student Voice Through Assemblies

Assemblies provide opportunities for students to express their thoughts and share their reflections. We are eagerly anticipating the participation of families in the Grade 5 A Assembly on 15 April and the Grade 5 B Assembly on 22 April, where students will proudly present their learning and collaborative achievements.

Student Council Elections and Investiture

With E-voting for the Student Council taking place on 21 April, student leadership will achieve an exciting journey milestone. This democratic and decision-making process will allow students to experience active participation. It will culminate in the Investiture Ceremony on 30 April, where newly elected student leaders will receive their positions.

Academic and Leadership Milestones in Secondary

April will see purposeful academic and leadership engagements in the Secondary School MIT Challenge – “Teamworks” will set the tone for collaborative and critical thinking. Student Council nominations will be open between 6 April and 9 April, followed by campaigning and interviews from 13 to 22 April, with E voting on 21 and 22 April. We will also celebrate our seniors at the Graduation Ceremony for Grade 12J and IBDP 2 on 11 April. The month will end with the IBDP May 2026 exams set to commence on 28 April which marks an important academic milestone for students.

Moving Forward Together

April will be a month of steady growth, emerging leadership, and purposeful engagement. I look forward to continuing this journey together, supported by the strong partnership between home and school.

Warm regards,

Ms. Suman Kalra

Principal
