Update from the Principal’s Desk – September 2026
- 17 September 2026
As we step into September, I am delighted to share a quick glimpse of the enriching experiences, celebrations, and academic milestones that have shaped and will continue to enrich this month for our Oakridgers. From joyful celebrations and experiential learning to opportunities for reflection, each experience encourages our learners to connect, explore, and grow.
September began on a festive note with our Janmashtami celebrations on 2nd September. Through joyful participation and cultural experiences, our learners embraced the spirit and significance of this special occasion.
We celebrated the beautiful bond between generations through Grandparents’ Day. Our learners enjoyed meaningful moments of connection, gratitude, and togetherness with their grandparents on 3rd September, with the celebration continuing for our younger learners on 11th September.
We celebrated Teacher’s Day with warmth, gratitude, and plenty of cheer. The entire teaching and support staff came together over a special lunch, taking a well-deserved break to relax, enjoy good food, share a few laughs, and create happy memories together. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the people who make our school community special.
On 8th September, our learners observed International Literacy Day, celebrating the power of reading, language, and learning. The day encouraged them to recognise literacy as a gateway to knowledge, imagination, and lifelong learning.
Our youngest learners have also been learning through real-world experiences. EYP2 learners visited Chattbir Zoo, where they explored the world of animals and connected classroom learning with first-hand observations. EYP1 learners visited Cakes and Creams Bakery, getting a delightful glimpse into how everyday treats are prepared while engaging their senses and curiosity.
Academic learning took centre stage on 10th September as our DP1 and DP2 learners appeared for their Mid-Term Examinations. These assessments provided an opportunity to reflect on their preparation, understanding, and application of concepts.
On 14th September, we celebrated Hindi Diwas with a Doha Gayan Competition for Grades 1–12. Through the recitation and explanation of dohas, our learners explored the richness of Hindi language and literature while expressing themselves with confidence.
On 15th September, our young learners from Pre-Nursery to Grade 5 celebrated International Dot Day through creative and collaborative experiences. The day encouraged them to explore imagination, creativity, and the idea that even the simplest beginning can lead to something meaningful.
On 19th September, our Student Progress Conference for Pre-Nursery to Grade 2 will bring teachers and families together to reflect on our young learners’ progress. It will be a meaningful opportunity to celebrate achievements, discuss growth, and work together towards their continued development.
On 21st September, our learners will observe the International Day of Peace by reflecting on values of empathy, compassion, respect, and harmony. The occasion will encourage them to understand how everyday acts of kindness and understanding contribute to a peaceful community.
September has already brought moments of celebration, exploration, gratitude, and learning, with more meaningful experiences to come. From discovering the world beyond the classroom to celebrating language, relationships, and creativity, our Oakridgers continue to learn through every experience. I look forward to the rest of the month bringing many more opportunities for our learners to connect, reflect, and grow.
Warm regards,
Ms. Suman Kalra
