Principal Desk Update February 2022
- 15 February 2022
Dear Parents
Hope you all are doing well!
“Excellence in education is when we do everything we can to make sure that they (children) become everything that they can.” – Carol Ann Tomlinson
Educators at Oakridge International School Mohali aspire towards ensuring that every child learns, every moment, to become everything that they can.
Even though we witness this wonder of transformative learning on a daily basis but the joy is boundless when this resounds with what you say. And I say so, because you said it so as well. In our recently conducted Annual Parent Satisfaction Survey 96% of Oakridge parents feel that the school provides a good Virtual Schooling experience given to their child and the same number also were happy with the stimulating learning environment. And, the most wonderful news of all, is that 96% of our pre-primary students’ parents said that their child feels highly motivated to learn because of their teacher. Given the recent scenario, to receive such positive feedback is truly motivating for all of us here at Oakridge Mohali. This motivates us but we work with the belief that to be the best we have to keep improving. This is a process and a journey- not a destination.
We have also made note of some important feedback given by you especially pertaining to the areas of parental involvement especially in senior grades. We will also look at enhancing our communication especially with regard to feedback about your child’s progress related to academics and beyond. During the coming months, we will work towards resolving these in the best way possible.
To all the parents of 15 – 18 year olds, I seek your support in keeping our students vaccinated. We conducted a Vaccination Camp (Free of cost) on 20 January 2022. The next one is planned for 19 February 2022 (Saturday). Let us join hands to ensure a 100% completion through this drive which also is free of cost. In case any parent has a reservation about vaccination then do reach out to me for a discussion.
Our grade 10 IGCSE (Cambridge) students are engaged with their Board examination since 2 February 2022. These students have been in VSE and Hybrid school and they have our best wishes – I am sure they are going to bring accolades to the school. Some of the students have opted to take the June series, nonetheless for National as well as International Boards there is only the in-person examination route option as of now.
Our students of grade 6 – 12 are back in school premises and the school resounds with their voices, laughter and presence. I am sure that we will get the permission to open for other grades very soon. I look forward to seeing the children in person very soon.
Looking forward to your continued enthusiastic participation in all that happens in school as well as your support!
Kind regards
Ramanjit Ghuman
