Principal Desk Update February 2023

  • 15 February 2023

Dear Parents,

Technology has altered how we study and educate in today’s fast-paced world and has become an essential part of our daily lives. In order to improve our students’ learning experiences, our school has made sizable investments in ed-tech solutions. Our Primary Years’ classrooms got new interactive whiteboards, which gave children access to a variety of multimedia resources and interactive teaching aids. In our opinion, these technological developments will help our students study more effectively and will also provide them with the tools they need to thrive in the digital world.

Christopher Short, Managing Director of Nord Anglia Education- India, visited us in the first week of February on Global Play Day. Last time he visited us in November 2022 for our Annual Concert, immediately after he took over his role as MD- India. This time he spent his time interacting with the students, taking classroom observations, and doing interdepartmental meetings for the improvement of the school. Additionally, he also motivated the senior grade students to achieve to the best of their potentials at the Year End Assembly.

I would also like to inform you about our use of Turnitin, a powerful tool for enhancing writing skills and detecting plagiarism. Our teachers recently went under training to use Turnitin as part of the writing process to help students understand the importance of academic integrity and to provide constructive feedback on their work. In the month of February, Turnitin conducts sessions for students under the title ‘Empowering students to create their Best, Original Work’. We believe that incorporating Turnitin into our writing process will help our students develop the skills they need to succeed in college and beyond.

Adapting to the change in syllabus, teachers from the Science Department of IBDP are undergoing Subject specific seminars of Category 3. We are sure that our teachers will return with renewed enthusiasm and a plethora of fresh ideas, and we think the training will considerably improve the quality of education we deliver to our students.

In this journey, we need your support and partnership. Together, let us create an environment that nurtures the growth and development of our children.

Wishing you and your children a fulfilling and meaningful educational experience.

Regards
