From the Principal’s Desk | October Celebrations at Oakridge Mohali

Dear Parents,
We are delighted to share the upcoming events and celebrations at our school during the colorful month of October. This month consolidates students’ learning with the cultural celebrations along with the performances we have planned. Events for the month are as follows:
We began the month with the celebrations of Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra. Students participated in activities centered around the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi along with the stories and activities centered around the festival. Students focused on the stories of compassion, honesty, and perseverance. This was a meaningful start to October, and students appreciated the significance of these celebrations.
This month, perhaps the most awaited grand moment is the Annual Concert, Drishtikon- a vision to Lead! For the whole school community, this is a magnificent learning and talent celebration! Currently, students are engaged in preparing for this special day backed by endless practicing in multiple facets like theatre, drama, music, and other performances. For Oakridgers, Drishtikon is not just a celebration of talent, but a manifestation of the joy of learning! We warmly welcome our supportive Parent community to be an integral part of this grand celebration.
This month, another special event will be our Staff Reward and Recognition Ceremony, followed by a short yet joyful Diwali celebration before the refreshing Diwali break — a time to enjoy and relish the festival of lights with family and loved ones, and to unwind after our grand Annual Concert.
Halloween celebrations for our younger students and International Library Week interactive sessions for all our students shall provide a perfect conclusion to the month. These events held in a safe and learning environment, are meant to spark imagination, creativity, and a love for reading.
Thank you for the support, encouragement, and trust you place in us, which empowers our students to get actively engaged in these events. We cherish these times with our school community and appreciate the opportunities these activities provide for our learners fostering them to build and celebrate their skills and talents and fuel their joy, curiosity, and creativity!
