Principal’s Desk Update- October 2022

  • 11 October 2022

Dear Parent,

Hope you had a joyous Dussehra!

When L.M. Montgomery said ‘I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers’, little did she realize that she was reflecting the sentiments of individuals across the world. The way this quote has surpassed the bounds of space and time is phenomenal. The spirit of October is such that it feels like a cherry on top of a perfectly baked cake. To mark the onset of this cheer, we had equally eventful celebrations in the past month. Right from the MYP Gallery Walk, Show and Tell Activity to the Grandparents Day Celebration, September was a vibrant month indeed. But among all this, the highlight of the month was the week-long Dussehra celebrations that took over the school. Students from all the segments celebrated the spirit of the festival and danced to the tunes of Garba and Dandiya. From Palm Court to the Soccer Ground, every nook and corner of Oakridge, Gachibowli was filled with festive fervor.

Besides this, our admin team did a fabulous job to upkeep the facilities of the school during the Dussehra break. I would also like to recognize the amazing efforts led by each faculty member as they gear up for IB evaluation. A special mention to the CBSE students for acing their exams successfully. All my very best wishes to you!

Moreover, this month we have multiple student achievements to laud. Riddhima from MYP made us proud by not only exhibiting innovation by creating the physiotherapy robot but also winning the gold medal in International Youth Robotics Competition. Khashikha from Grade 9 bagged the National Award for Excellence for her initiative to introduce sustainable menstruation practices throughout the country. Rohan from Grade 9 stood third in the coveted Frank Millet Juniors Squash Tournament. I extend my very best wishes to each of these achievers and hope that they continue to embark upon many such feats.

As we step into the month of October, I look forward to the multiple activities we have lined up over the month. In order to recognize the importance of mental, emotional, and physical well-being, celebrations of Mental Health Week are in full swing. Moreover, our junior school students are gearing up for the Oakridge Orator event. In all, the whiff of celebrations is very fresh in the autumnal air.

Here is hoping that you enjoy the spirit of the month!

Warm Regards

Hema Chennupaty
