Oakridgers of Grade 3, 4, and 5 conducted Tuck Shop to raise funds under Community Action and Service events. The fact children’s health is such a big issue; hence it is no longer considered acceptable for tuckshops to offer foods that contribute to the health issues facing children. The Tuckshops need to provide children with food that nourishes their bodies and brains. Thus, the team held meetings to plan the menu [including only healthy items], understand the finances to generate profit, maintenance of extreme hygiene, and ensure zero wastage. The games were also designed keeping in mind all age groups.

 

The shops featured mouth-watering delicacies to exciting games- thus garnering great revenue. Tuckshop is a great way to raise funds, however, it’s not without challenges. From the time the idea emanates and till it is realized – the period requires a mammoth task of planning.

The tuck shops gave many children the thrill of spending one’s own pocket money for the first time. “It’s colors and sights and sounds tastes,” says Steve Berry, co-author of The Great British Tuck Shop. “It’s the first time you make a consumer choice that’s not guided by your parents.”

A plenitude amount of [Rs.34,000] was raised, and this amount shall be used to light up a dim path and carve a smile to set things straight. Conducting the Tuck-shop – fundraising event was so much more than a way to raise funds alone. It was a way to get the whole school community involved and for students to learn about goal setting, boost spirit, and promote student wellbeing.

All in all, fundraising events held at school are an ongoing necessity. It raises money for schools and teaches students about the importance of being charitable. From sourcing sponsor prospects to donor retention, numerous crucial steps in the school fundraiser process must be considered.
