Lakshman Sharma

Mr. Lakshman Sharma is an accomplished educator and academic leader with more than 16 years of experience in Commerce education, curriculum leadership, and student mentoring. As the Diploma Programme Coordinator at Oakridge International School, Mohali, heplays a pivotal role in guiding the implementation and development of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP), ensuring academic excellence, international-mindedness, and holistic student development.

Prior to joining Oakridge International School, Mr. Sharma served for more than a decade at Delhi Public School Ghaziabad, Meerut Road, where he held several key leadership roles including officiating IBDP Coordinator, Head RIDE Coordinator, Head of Departmentfor Business Management in the IB Wing, Commerce Coordinator, Head of Department for Accountancy, HOD Banking and Insurance etc. During his tenure, he successfully guided six cohorts of IBDP students with a 100% pass record and maintained exceptional academicoutcomes with class averages consistently above 5.5 out of 7. In the CBSE curriculum, he achieved outstanding results with class averages exceeding 88% in Accountancy board examinations for more than twelve consecutive years.

Mr. Sharma is an International Baccalaureate DP Business Management Examiner and has contributed to the evaluation of Business Management HL examination papers. He has also served as an Additional Head Examiner for CBSE Class XII examinations in Accountancyand Business Studies for over a decade. His professional contributions include developing academic resources for CBSE such as blueprints, marking schemes, and sample papers for Commerce subjects including Banking, Insurance, Financial Accounting, and CostAccounting.

An active member of the international education community, Mr. Sharma regularly participates in global professional forums and training programmes. He has attended IB Global Conference, SAIBSA workshops and leadership forums at leading institutions includingGenesis Global School (Noida), Prometheus School (Noida), Jay Shree Periwal International School (Jaipur), and The Doon School (Dehradun). He has also participated in the PAN India DP/CP Coordinators’ Meet and IB School Leaders’ Meet, strengthening collaborationand innovation within the IB community.

Mr. Sharma has received several prestigious recognitions for his contributions to education. He is the recipient of the IPN NSPIRED Global Honors for Teachers Award (Principal Nominated), the International Achievers Award by the Commerce Teachers’ Associationfor excellence in mentoring students for international commerce competitions, and the Best Teacher Award by the Commerce Teachers’ Foundation. He was also nominated and shortlisted for the CBSE Teachers’ Award for his outstanding service to education.

As a resource person and mentor, Mr. Sharma has conducted teachers’ training programmes for CBSE educators, particularly in Banking and Insurance, at the CBSE Training Centre in Rouse Avenue, New Delhi. He has played an instrumental role in organizing academicevents, commerce festivals, CAS initiatives, and student enrichment programmes that promote creativity, leadership, and community engagement.
