November at Oakridge, Mohali was a month of meaningful learning, cultural pride, joyful celebrations and purposeful experiences beyond the classroom. From spiritually enriching observances and academic orientations to immersive field explorations, athletic excellence and safeguarding initiatives, each moment reflected our commitment to nurturing balanced, principled and globally minded learners.
Keeping Our Roots Alive
On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purab, the entire Oakridge community participated and held a beautiful and soul-throbbing Prabhat Pheri. The students and staff attended it with reverence, humility and devotion and this resonated with teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The beautiful singing and group involvement instilled very well values of equality, service, compassion and respect of all hence, our learners will always keep in touch with their cultural backgrounds and at the same time develop as responsible citizens of the world.
Parenting today isn’t just about raising children — it’s also about healing ourselves along the way.
We are the first generation trying to break old patterns, nurture emotional intelligence, and raise children in a world that never seems to slow down. It’s courageous work — and often, exhausting too.
The Primary and Early Years Athletic Meet was a colorful tribute to fitness, sportsmanship, and the spirit of perseverance. Students were eager to participate in a variety of events like races, hurdles, sack races, hula hoop contests, and javelin throw. The community spirit was lifted when parents joined in for the tug of war and hurdle race. It was an event that celebrated collaboration, determination, and a passion for fitness.
The World and National children’s day was observed with warmness and joy in the whole campus. Amongst tiny finger impressions on the walls as a sign of happiness and individuality occurred. The laughter and happiness of our little learners were filled with the involvement of play stations. An intelligently designed special gathering of teachers was conducted with spicy performances that left each child cherished, glorified and motivated.
The long-awaited Night Camp at Oakridge became an adventure roller coaster of fun, learning and unending memories to our learners. Whether it was the rush of adrenaline zip lining across campus or a highly energized bubble ball, bringing together activities and a talent hunt showcase that would get the group electrified, each experience was designed to instill the spirit of confidence, teamwork, and being creative. Another thing that helped to warm up the experience was shared laughter over tasty nutritious food that helped to improve friendships and build independence. The night camp was indeed a mixture of an exciting and experiential learning adventure that had left our students smiling, story telling and with unforgettable memories.

We hosted an enriching Career Session on “Student Leadership & the Future of Learning” for students of Grades 10–12. The session was led by distinguished experts Dr. Debra Townsley, President, Albright College, and Mr. Abhishek Gupta, Founder & CEO, High School Moms & GIDE.AI. Also, a comprehensive Way Forward Meeting was conducted for Grade 10 students and parents to provide clarity on subject choices, academic pathways and career planning. These sessions inspired learners to think boldly, lead responsibly and prepare confidently for the world ahead.
In alignment with Oakridge’s strong safeguarding framework, the entire staff participated in POSH and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training sessions. These sessions reaffirmed our unwavering commitment to providing a safe, ethical and inclusive environment for every learner and staff member.
Our Curious learners participated in enriching real world learning by planned field visits. EYP1 visited a plant nursery to learn plant life cycles and maintenance, Grade 1 visited a construction site to learn about structures and foundations, and Grade 2 visited a zoo to learn about wildlife at Chhatbir Zoo, Chandigarh. Also, Grade 3 developed an interest in reading at the State Library, Sector 34, whereas Grade 5 gained a glimpse of the heritage of Punjab at Virasat-e-Khalsa. Visits enhanced curiosity, observation and experiential learning.
Our secondary students went on a memorable educational tour to Jim Corbett National Park and Nainital where they got the excitement of jungle safari, got to know the natural ecosystem of a national park, and admired the picturesque marvel of Naini Lake. The adventure, environmental consciousness, teamwork, and independence made the trip a very transformative learning experience.
Our PYP Coffee Morning was a warm and enriching interaction between parents and the school leadership. The session provided a meaningful platform for open dialogue, where best classroom practices were shared and valuable parent feedback was thoughtfully discussed. The interaction was graced by our esteemed Principal, Ms. Suman Kalra, along with the academic Coordinators, whose insights and guidance made the session highly impactful. The morning truly reflected our belief in strong partnerships between school and home as a cornerstone of student success.
Our Progress Parade of grade 2, was a rich display of creativity and learning. Students showed projects and performances demonstrating the way that inquiry and imagination supplement one another. Teachers and parents were delighted when our youngest learners told them about what they learned in classes, in which they interpreted the themes of classes, and it was indeed a celebration of progress.
