April has been a month of energy, exploration, and meaningful connections at Oakridge, Mohali. From the vibrant Vaisakhi celebrations to the inspiring Investitures Ceremony , our students have embraced every opportunity to learn, lead, and grow.

Each event this month—be it the graduation Ceremony, the Earth Day  Assembly, or our student-led initiatives—reflects the spirit of our community. It’s heartening to see our young learners step forward with confidence, creativity, and a global perspective. Their enthusiasm for academics, sports, and social impact continues to inspire us all.

As we move ahead, I extend my gratitude to our parents, teachers, and students for their unwavering support and collaboration. Together, we create an environment where learning thrives, ideas flourish, and every student finds their path to success.

Graduation Ceremony

The moving farewell for Class of 2025 (CBSE and IBDP) students became an amalgamation of cherished hilarious, and overwhelming memories. The atmosphere became fogged with nostalgia as the students joined their families and teachers to reminisce about their time together. The occasion featured inspirational speeches and blessings from our honourable Principal, Ms. Suman Kalra, and esteemed guests, Mr. Christopher Shot, Managing Director of Nord Anglia Education.

Our alumni embrace the limitless frontier of life while we feel proud about their transformation into compassionate, courageous, and curious individuals who embody both the IB mission and Oakridge’s framework.

Sankalp – An Extended Essay Cafe

This month marked the opportunity for our IBDP students to display their research abilities during Sankalp Extended Essay Café. The event featured students representing English, Economics, Biology and Chemistry who extensively investigated numerous academic subjects. Students advanced both their analytical abilities and inspired critical thinking in their peer group through the presentation of their selection criteria and their unique discoveries.

🌍 Our Planet, Our Responsibility – Earth Day Celebrations

Oakridge Affinity, a student-led initiative designed to nurture skills and hobbies, wrapped up for the academic year on a high note. The energy on OA Culmination Day was contagious! Students poured their hearts into planning, participating, and showcasing their work, making it a truly inspiring event. 🗳️ Voices of the Future Student Council Elections

The student council elections at Oakridge started with an e-voting process that created excitement throughout all the school hallways. The time for campaigning brought out countless student-posters and promises combined with inspiring concepts from future leaders. Students displayed a rich spirit of democracy during the elections through their enthusiastic leadership and disability making mindset.

The Investiture Ceremony brought elegance to announce all school segment leaders for student council positions. The student council members embraced their roles with responsibility by adopting their formal sashes as they promised to guide Oakridge through the values of empathy and courage using innovative leadership methods.

To celebrate a deep love for books and recognize exceptional reading habits, Oakridge International School proudly awarded the Reader of the Year 2024–25 trophies to outstanding students from Grades 4 to 9. These young bibliophiles have shown that reading opens doors to creativity, empathy, and lifelong learning.

Masterful Artistry

We proudly congratulate Grade 5 student Harsang for winning a Bronze Medal in the Heritage and Cultural Society Art Competition. During this prestigious competition her creativity along with her exceptional skills rose to prominence.

Ashmita from Grade 10 received double recognition by grasping Gold and Bronze medals at the Global Campus Art Competition along with the Heritage and Cultural Society Art Competition. Her distinguished achievements demonstrate her art dedication creating widespread admiration for the Oakridge community.

Tennis Triumph

Taanish Nanda from Grade 8 won the U-14 Doubles title at the AITA National Series when the event took place in Jalandhar throughout the week of April 7th. The athletic skills combined with his dedication to sports earned him this outstanding National Championship.

📚 CAS in Action – Learning Through Service

The Creativity Activity Service (CAS) component of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) brought DP1 and DP2 students on a purposeful venture.  Our students volunteered to teach young learners from Grades 6 to 10 at a local government school, emphasizing fundamental concepts and creative learning techniques.

This educational venture not only developed their pedagogical skills but also enhanced their emotional empathy while showing them the profound potential of knowledge transformation. Students gain their understanding of the IB learner profile by participating in authentic community involvement activities which develop their global awareness and social commitments.

Community Champions

Our students Nishika Kansotia and Sabreen Kaur Lidhar received recognition for their benevolent volunteer work at the 13th Free Eye Check-up & Medical Camp which Friends Forever Welfare Society organized in Kharar. The students demonstrate Oakridge values through their service activities which perfectly display empathy alongside initiative alongside meaningful world impact.

The assembly from our secondary students seamlessly combined commemoration of Parshuram Jayanti with essential malaria education. The audience received an inspiring impact as members upheld courageous values and social responsibility through speech presentations and a theatrical production.

Student Council Investiture Ceremony 2025

Oakridge Mohali proudly celebrated the Investiture Ceremony of the newly elected PYP and Secondary School Student Council 2025. After an exciting e-voting campaign, our student leaders officially took their oath to lead with integrity, passion, and purpose.

The event was a powerful showcase of student voice and leadership, as roles from Presidents to Ambassadors were conferred with badges and sashes—each symbolizing trust and responsibility. Our Principal, Ms. Suman Kalra, graced the ceremony and conferred the presidential badge, adding significance to the occasion.

With the support of proud parents, teachers, and peers, it was truly a memorable moment that reflected the values and spirit of the Oakridge community.
