Principal’s Desk Update – September 2022

  • 12 September 2022

Dear Parents,

The oft-quoted saying that ‘change is the only constant’ never goes old and what better way to symbolize this maxim if not the month of September. Everything about this month signifies change- the seasonal and cultural transition. Oakridgers embarked upon the same and wrapped the campus with festive fervor.

August began with the commencement of the coveted Oakridge MUN. The campus was then adorned with the spirit of tricolors as the Independence Day celebrations commenced. We also kickstarted our very own CAS initiative ‘Spoorthi’. Moreover, our EY and PYP students have donned their explorer hats and ventured out on numerous field trips like Birla Planetarium, Legislative Assembly, Kobe Sizzlers, among many others.

Our PYP students also put up a brilliant showcase of talent through the World of Activities. Additionally, passing on the baton of responsibility, our junior students were vested with new responsibilities through the Investiture Ceremony. Understanding the importance of effective communication skills, our EY students put up a great performance through the Show and Tell showcase.

Channelizing the need for honing future-ready learners, our career team also organized the Indian Universities Fair, with over 30 universities participating in the event and guiding the students. We also kickstarted the Extended Learning Program wherein we are offering a chance to students to participate in a range of after-school extracurricular and sports activities like Theatre Workshop, the Entrepreneurship Incubator Program, Soccer, Table Tennis, and Rock Climbing, among many others.

With the huge stress on the well-being of students, we understand their nutritional requirements, hence, we have continually facilitated the best meal plans on campus. With the help of our expert nutritionist, we curate the lunch menu with the proportionate nutrition value. Moreover, addressing the traffic congestion during school hours, our bus service is indeed a viable option that can cater up to 50 students at once. I hereby urge you to explore the option of school lunch and bus facilities and protect the holistic well-being of your kids.

We are now in the process of upgrading the facilities in the school and it is enchanting to witness the EY kids enjoy the new toys and activity sets procured for them. Our teachers are also gearing up for IB evaluation and acing the process. Also, this August we resumed the Coffee Mornings and nothing makes our day brighter than having a lovely interaction with all the parents. I look forward to meeting every one of you in person.

With this, I hope that you enjoy the festivals and immerse yourself in the beautiful autumn spirit.

Warm regards

Hema Chennupaty
