Principal’s Desk Update – November 2021

  • 10 November 2021

Dear Parents,

It has been a couple of months since the students started reporting back to school and the turnout post Dussehra Vacation has been great. The trust that parents are showing in us is truly appreciated and we will leave no stone unturned to keep every child safe and happy at school.

With students back in action, taking up responsibilities and working towards the Sustainable Development Goals, it is quite overwhelming to see their involvement in creating a social impact. There have been conscious and continuous efforts being carried out by our senior Oakridgers in weeding and cleaning the lakes in and around the city, particularly Mushki and Neknampur lakes . In a bid to make the planet greener and increase the oxygen levels of the city, they have also planted a lot of saplings along the bund of the lake Mushki. Isn’t that wonderful!

At Oakridge we have always nurtured independent thinkers and with the implementation of a student agency we ensure that students make their choice, voice out their opinions and take ownership of their actions. Challenging their creative thinking at various stages, emphasis is being given on the student autonomy, eventually honing leadership skills in them. With learner-centric classrooms, students take decisions based upon their learning and act upon it to meet their goals. Various opportunities and avenues are facilitated by the school with an objective to challenge their curiosity and interests thus enabling them to be active learners. This has been quite evident with the impressive ideas and magnificent projects that we have been witnessing in our PYP exhibition, Community Project and Personal Project, that will be unfolding within the next two months for this academic year,

World Children’s Day is just around the corner. Through our collaboration with UNICEF, Oakridgers are rigorously planning to advocate and promote children’s rights, creating awareness on immunizations and vaccinations among them. Caring more deeply about the underprivileged kids, Oakridgers have also been raising funds for their education and medical expenses. It gives us immense pleasure and pride to see our students taking up these responsibilities in creating global awareness and working towards social impact even at a tender age. I am positive that these young learners, who are deeply rooted into their core values and ethics will reach greater heights and spread their wings globally, realising their dream of making this world a better place for everyone.

Towards the end I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the stakeholders for making the 20 years journey of Oakridge International School, Gachibowli so eventful and successful. The warm wishes have been pouring in and it is so gratifying to witness the trust that the parents have in our institution. Thank you!

Wishing everyone a very Happy Children’s Day. Stay safe!

Warm Regards
