Principal’s Desk Update – March 2022
- 10 March 2022
Dear Parents,
Hope you are doing well. We are extremely delighted to see an increasing number of students reporting to school in-person and thriving socially while making use of the essential resources available at the campus. It’s always good to see and meet them in person and share their thoughts and ideas.
The recent conclusion of the early year’s Sports Fest was a testimony to the fact that how our students may have missed being at school, enjoying sports and all kinds of other fun activities along with their peers and friends. The gleaming faces of enthusiastic little Oakridgers wearing medals and holding certificates was certainly a sight to behold.
It was quite amazing to witness the community service projects taken up by the MYP Grade 8 students as they showcased their service-learning through various innovative reach-out activities at the ‘Community Project Showcase’ at school. My heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Brian Cooklin, MD Nord Anglia Education India, and Ms. Rebekah Drame, FSO, US Department of state, for gracing the occasion. The culmination of learning through the PYP exhibition was another impressive showcase by the students of Grade 5.
As we head toward the conclusion of the last term for this academic year, students and teachers are gearing up for the summative assessments and the new academic year commences soon for the CBSE segment. We are also rolling out multiple summer programmes to enhance the learning experience for our students and to upskill them. Duathlon and Triathlon, the sports competitions at Global Campus will certainly gear them up for a fitness regimen, while the internship program will give our senior students of Grade 9-12 an opportunity to strengthen their résumé with certified work experience during the school years itself. Summer Camp is another avenue that would boost students’ passion and skills with multiple interesting activities curated by our experts. I look forward to the success of these programmes with maximum student participation as we at Oakridge have always aimed to prepare students to be future-ready.
With the festival of Holi round the corner, I wish you all happy and colorful festivities. Temperature is soaring, please take care of yourselves and of our students. Let’s stay safe and well-hydrated. Wish you a happy and safe Holi!
Warm Regards
Hema Chennupaty
