From the Principal’s Desk
April has been a month of energy, exploration, and meaningful connections at Oakridge, Mohali. From the vibrant Vaisakhi celebrations to the inspiring Investitures Ceremony, our students have embraced every opportunity to learn, lead, and grow.
Each event this month—be it the graduation Ceremony, the Earth Day Assembly, or our student-led initiatives—reflects the spirit of our community. It’s heartening to see our young learners step forward with confidence, creativity, and a global perspective. Their enthusiasm for academics, sports, and social impact continues to inspire us all.
As we move ahead, I extend my gratitude to our parents, teachers, and students for their unwavering support and collaboration. Together, we create an environment where learning thrives, ideas flourish, and every student finds their path to success.
Here are the key highlights of this vibrant month at Oakridge.
Graduation Ceremony
The moving farewell for Class of 2026 (CBSE and IBDP) students became an amalgamation of cherished hilarious, and overwhelming memories. The atmosphere became fogged with nostalgia as the students joined their families and teachers to reminisce about their time together. The occasion featured inspirational speeches and blessings from our honourable Principal, Ms. Suman Kalra, along with the IBDP Coordinator Mr. Lakshman Sharma, CBSE Coordinator Ms. Bulbul Singh and Cambridge Coordinator Ms. Mansi Chakravarti.
Our alumni embrace the limitless frontier of life while we feel proud about their transformation into compassionate, courageous, and curious individuals who embody both the IB mission and Oakridge’s framework.
Parents often wonder what truly helps children fall in love with reading and self‑expression—especially in the middle primary years, when learning can quietly become more about finishing work than discovering ideas. At Oakridge International School Mohali, learning is shaped with the belief that curiosity needs to be nurtured gently, through experiences that allow children to think, imagine and feel confident sharing their thoughts.
Our young learners from Grades 1 to 5 participated in the MIT 2 Challenge – Building a Community with great enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork. Through hands-on activities and collaborative efforts, students showcased innovative ideas while learning the importance of cooperation and community building. The challenge was filled with excitement, active participation, and joyful learning moments, reflecting the students’ curiosity and imagination throughout the experience.
Voices of the Future – Student Council Elections
The student council elections at Oakridge started with an e-voting process that created excitement throughout all the school hallways. The time for campaigning brought out countless student-posters and promises combined with inspiring concepts from future leaders. Students displayed a rich spirit of democracy during the elections through their enthusiastic leadership and disability making mindset.
The Investiture Ceremony brought elegance to announce all school segment leaders for student council positions. The student council members embraced their roles with responsibility by adopting their formal sashes as they promised to guide Oakridge through the values of empathy and courage using innovative leadership methods.
Student Council Investiture Ceremony 2026
Oakridge Mohali proudly celebrated the Investiture Ceremony of the newly elected PYP and Secondary School Student Council 2026. After an exciting e-voting campaign, our student leaders officially took their oath to lead with integrity, passion, and purpose.
The event was a powerful showcase of student voice and leadership, as roles from Presidents to Ambassadors were conferred with badges and sashes—each symbolizing trust and responsibility. Our Principal, Ms. Suman Kalra, graced the ceremony and conferred the presidential badge, adding significance to the occasion.
With the support of proud parents, teachers, and peers, it was truly a memorable moment that reflected the values and spirit of the Oakridge community.
Congratulations to our new leaders—your journey of impact begins now!
Earth Day at Oakridge International School Mohali was all about turning awareness into action. Our PYP learners came together for a plantation and e-waste collection drive, taking small but meaningful steps towards caring for the environment.
With enthusiasm and teamwork, students planted 145 saplings and collected 90 e-waste items, learning the importance of sustainable habits and responsible choices along the way.
More than just an activity, the day became a reminder that even simple actions can create a positive impact when done together.
