Principal’s Desk Update – July 2025
- 9 July 2025
Dear Parents,
As July unfolds, I am filled with immense pride and joy reflecting on the remarkable journeys our students continue to undertake — journeys that are shaping them into thoughtful, compassionate, and globally aware individuals.
We are proud to celebrate the IBDP results of the Class of 2025. Rutwik led the cohort with an outstanding 41/45, placing him among the top IB performers globally. With an average passing score of 32.7, and 38% of students scoring 35 and above, this batch has demonstrated consistent excellence. In the IB Core, 73% secured A or B grades in Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay, showcasing their strength in critical thinking and research.
We also look forward to our IBDP students’ upcoming Theory of Knowledge Exhibition, Ekatvam, where they’ll present deeply personal explorations of knowledge, perspective, and truth — a fitting reflection of the inquiry-driven learning we value.
In the Trinity College London assessments, our students delivered exceptional performances. All students in Theatre earned Distinctions, while Guitar and Keyboard entries saw multiple Distinctions and Merits. These results reflect the talent, discipline, and creativity we continue to promote at Oakridge.
Our students returned from the NAE Social Impact Summit in Houston after engaging in meaningful sessions on leadership, sustainability, and global citizenship. A visit to NASA sparked new aspirations, while volunteering at the Houston Food Bank offered a hands-on experience in community service and food sustainability.
A standout moment was their presentation of Ekatmika, Oakridge’s student-led social impact project focused on empowering adolescent girls in low-income communities. In their words, “Ekatmika is not just a project. It’s a voice for those unheard — a step towards equality, safety, and opportunity.” Their passion was deeply appreciated, and we look forward to building this initiative further within our school community.
As we step into the rest of the term, I am energised by the spirit of our school community. With your continued support, we will keep nurturing young minds who are not only academically capable but also compassionate, courageous, and ready to make a difference in the world.
Warm regards,
Shaila Bhamidipati
