Principal’s Desk Update – August 2025
- 7 August 2025
Dear Parents,
As we embrace the month of August, I’m delighted to share the energy and excitement that has filled our campus, a true reflection of the holistic experiences that shape every learner at Oakridge.
We began the month by celebrating academic excellence at our Annual Prize Day, honouring the achievements of our top performers from the academic year 2024-25. A heartfelt thank you to all the parents who joined us in cheering for our young achievers, your presence made the event even more special.
We are also looking forward to hosting the Global University Fair on August 11, where students and parents from across grades can engage with top universities and explore future-ready careers, courses, and trends in higher education. We strongly encourage our families to make the most of this valuable opportunity to plan and make informed decisions for the future.
Meanwhile, our youngest learners have something magical to look forward to. On August 23, we’re hosting the Oakridge Kids’ Carnival at our Early Years Campus, Siripuram — a fun-filled day of games, music, and delightful surprises designed for students up to Class 2. We hope you’ll join us with your little ones for a glimpse into how we nurture joy, curiosity, and early development through playful learning.
The anticipation is now building for our upcoming Investiture Ceremony, scheduled for August 25. Our newly elected Student Council — comprising 22 leaders from Grade 5 and 22 from Grade 12 and IBDP 2 — has been selected through a thoughtful process of interviews, campaigns, and careful evaluation. From Head Boy and Head Girl to House, Cultural, Wellbeing, and Sports Captains, Academic Prefects, and more, these roles represent the diverse pillars of student leadership at Oakridge. We are proud to see such commitment, confidence, and leadership in our students, and we look forward to seeing them take the lead.
We also welcomed applications for this year’s Oakridge Parent Partners, and we are grateful to our parent community for their enthusiastic response. As we finalise the list of selected partners, we look forward to meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and shared goals that help us grow together as a school.
In the spirit of continuous improvement, I’m happy to share that the work on two new learning facilities — the STEAM Lab and the Skating Rink — is progressing well and is expected to be completed by the end of the month. The STEAM Lab, our newest addition to experiential learning, is a cutting-edge space designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving through hands-on innovation. The Skating Rink, on the other hand, adds a dynamic new sport to our offerings and will be part of our Extended Learning Programme, alongside the likes of basketball and swimming.
Our students are also expanding their horizons beyond the classroom. A delegation recently returned from Oakridge MUN hosted by Oakridge Gachibowli, where they took part in vibrant discussions and debates on global issues, building critical thinking, diplomacy, and confidence.
Across grades, students are stepping out on relevant field trips, continuing their learning through real-world exposure and hands-on experiences that make concepts come alive.
As always, thank you for your continued partnership. Together, let’s make this academic year an enriching and memorable one for our children.
Warm regards,
Shaila Bhamidipati
