IBDP Students Host ‘Curtains Up for a Cause’ Charity Fundraiser
- 24 November 2025
The IBDP Class of 2026 hosted Curtains Up for a Cause, a charity fundraiser that beautifully blended creativity, community engagement, and compassion. Organised as a prelude to their upcoming student-led theatre production, the event served as a hands-on demonstration of the Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) component of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
The school grounds came alive with over 20 student-run stalls offering food, games, and handcrafted Diwali-themed products. Students from Grades 6 to 10 managed the stalls under the mentorship of IBDP Year 2 students, who oversaw the event’s planning and coordination.
In keeping with the festive spirit of Diwali, the fundraiser brought together students, parents, and teachers in support of a meaningful cause. Proceeds from the event will contribute to the students’ upcoming theatre production, which highlights contemporary social issues. All earnings from the production will then be donated to charity.
With Curtains Up for a Cause, Oakridge students once again showcased how young people can transform ideas into meaningful impact, using art, initiative, and empathy to make a positive difference.
