For students to learn to speak up and demand their rights, we celebrated World Children’s Day. It’s a fun day with a serious message – where children around the world take time to promote international togetherness and discuss their universal rights. Celebrating 30 years of World Children’s Day since the establishment of children’s rights, Oakridge International School, Visakhapatnam, as part of the Global Campus Initiative of Nord Anglia Education, has launched the World Children’s Day Project.
On the launch of the World Children Day program, the Chief Guest, Prof. Y. Satyanarayana, first Vice-Chancellor-DSNLU and Distinguished Professor GITAM University, appreciated the program and the lead taken by Oakridgers. The highlight of the launch was the student prefectural body leading and introducing the child rights to the school through special prayer, pledge, talk, and a skit. The launch culminated with a message by the Principal encouraging the students to make the right to be connected to the world and feel empowered as a child.
