A 14-year-old student of Oakridge International School Visakhapatnam, Prudhvi Reddy Battu set his foot in the international-level inline hockey tournament representing India for the very first time. He got selected for 18 Asian Roller Skating Championship 2018 (INLINE HOCKEY), held at Namwon city in Korea, from September 4th to 14th. While sharing happiness on this great achievement, Prudhvi said “I was feeling proud to be selected and without the support of my parents and school, I can’t achieve my goal. RSFI ( Roller Skating Federation Of India) provided an Italian coach for the best coaching“.
Earlier, Prudhvi has marked his forte by winning a gold medal in national-level at the 55th National Roller and Inline Hockey Championship. He has won many awards and accolades in numerous district and state-level inline hockey tournaments.
During past months, he was getting trained in a camp organised by the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) to make him ready for the international platform. “It is a pleasure seeing students like Prudhvi identifying their true potential in uncommon sports like Inline Hockey. As one of the best boarding Schools in India, we are happy to see him represent the country. We truly believe that students like him are the true representation of the new age students who are ready to explore beyond the known sports“, said Biju Baby, Principal of Oakridge International School Visakhapatnam.
