‘Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give upGalatians 6:9

The 2023-2024 academic year has gotten off to a flying start with a new experience for one and all. The month of June seems to pass by in a blink; so, let’s take a few moments to appreciate the people, programs, and moments that work in concert every day to make Oakridge a truly special place.

As the students across all grades ushered into the campus, lending out a vibrancy unmatched, we witness the productive interaction with teachers and friends. As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Reaping in the laurels of sincere efforts and soulful dedication, we are filled with pride to announce the results of the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint 2023 and Cambridge Primary Checkpoint ’23. We have a 100% pass percentage with students scoring a perfect score of 50 in all subjects. The Primary Checkpoint top scorers in science are Arjun Aneja, English are Bhuvi Sai and Lashitha Saanvi, and overall topper is Medhansh Pipaliya (highest average). Anchored in success, the voyage to excellence continues.

I thank our parent community for working closely with the school all these years.

Self-management requires us to take control of our lives, accept responsibility, make good decisions, and make changes as needed. And our Oakridgers are no exception to this. Students have notched places for themselves in prestigious world-class universities.

The academic year brought in tranquility during chaos and led us to find inner peace through the practice of yoga – celebrating International Yoga Day. It was initiated to create awareness of the importance of yoga in physical and mental well-being. World Music Day, also known as Fête de la Musique, is an annual celebration of music that takes place on June 21st each year. The day was well celebrated in our campus.

Student agency is about empowering kids to own their learning through greater autonomy. It is driven by choice, voice, and advocacy.

Periodt, a student-led campaign to improve menstrual hygiene.

Our trailblazers Sahana, Reshma, Sharraw, and Shashank organized a session to raise awareness and advocate for change. The aim of their campaign is to make menstrual pads accessible, ensuring every student has access to essential menstrual hygiene products without stigma or struggle.

Cambridge Primary organized a Recycling Drive – ‘Something for Nothing’ in collaboration with GoodeeBag to collect dry household garbage as part of the CAS campaign to promote sustainable consumption and production [SDG-12].

Oakridgers have arrived at the mountaineering camp in Les Martinets; this is a once-in-a-lifetime expedition through the stunning Swiss Alps. Throughout the journey, our Grade 8 and 9 students will engage in various challenges and navigate their way to new heights. The adventure has begun!

Our kids of Nursery and Early Years are abuzz with exciting learning activities! Our little learners are immersed in a world of educational exploration and discovery. Celebrating colours, movie date with Buddy, and play date with their friends.

We are all capable of excellence. Some find this path intuitively while others need to be gently led from the edge of the nadir to the very zenith of greatness. Accepting this outlook means raising the bar for ourselves – to see this as a wonderful opportunity to enrich the life of those who walk through our portals. As we set forth, I look towards discovering profound acts of courage and goodness in everyday tasks. I also look for community and parent support in creating an environment of mutual collaboration and respect so that this school becomes a place of countless opportunities to learn and grow. It is hard to detail the nuances and essence of innumerable learning opportunities we endeavor to offer to every Oakridger.

It is always a pleasure to write to you and share our journey. Thank you for your continuous support and for partnering us to help our kids learn and grow to be the best versions of themselves.

And as always said – At Oakridge, it is all about “Staying ahead!
