Oakridgers acts upon social responsibility and learn how to be part of a good cause.

Students of Oakridge International School Bachupally takes numerous initiatives to give back to our society. Learning about environment, society and how to care for people is a very important lesson now-a-day. Student driven different initiative reached and warmth many hearts this season of festivity. 

CAS activity for IBDP enables students to enhance their interpersonal development by learning through experience. Students must demonstrate perseverance and develop collaboration, problem solving and decision-making skills.

To give them an opportunity to do so, a farming session was conducted by Mr. Vamshi Krishna, CEO, Active Discovery Campus, Hyderabad. He began with a prayer to the farmer. His explanation of ploughing, irrigating and sowing the seeds in a small field motivated the students to perform. It was a hands-on experience and the students connect with Mother Nature was sure. They learnt the process of making fertilizers using organic material and also the process of making pesticides. 

They have sown sugarcane, jowar and potato. The field is being irrigated everyday by turns. The prepared fertilizers will be added to the soil soon. This will be an activity that will continue with vegetables and flower plants. The produce that is obtained will be sold or donated to the needy.
