Dear Parents,

November at Oakridge Boarding was a month of learning, exploration, and joyful togetherness. Each experience reflected our commitment to nurturing independent, confident, and compassionate young people. From hands-on club activities that sparked curiosity to weekend outings that strengthened friendships and created memories, our boarders continued to grow in confidence and character.

What makes our boarding community truly special is the spirit our children bring every single day. Their eagerness to learn, their willingness to help one another, and the sense of belonging they build together remind us that boarding is not just where they stay, it is where they truly learn to live. As we wrap up another meaningful month, we celebrate the everyday moments that make Oakridge Boarding a warm and vibrant home away from home.

Warm regards,
Shaila Bhamidipati

Building Inclusion at Boarding

Our Boarders took part in a meaningful session conducted by our student counsellor on Respecting Diversity and Inclusion. Through conversations, reflections and role play, students explored what it means to value differences. The session concluded with a Harmony Pledge Circle where each learner promised one thoughtful action to make boarding life more caring and inclusive.

Boarders’ Day Out at CMR Central Mall

Our boarders enjoyed a refreshing outing to CMR Central Mall, and the smiles said it all. The day was filled with laughter, delicious food, and animated fun in the game zone. Moments like these strengthen friendships and fill their boarding experience with joy, comfort, and the warmth of togetherness.

Swimming Sessions

Students participated in swimming practice on weekdays under the careful guidance of trained instructors. They improved their skills, built stamina, and enjoyed the thrill of mastering the pool. Their cheerful splashes echoed both learning and happiness, making swimming a favourite part of their week.

Learning, Creating, and Growing Together

In Robotics Club, our young innovators created an obstacle-sensing car and an automated toll-gate system, discovering how sensors and motors work in real-world applications. Life Skill Club focused on practical confidence as students learned first-aid techniques like the Reef Knot, Large Arm Sling, Head Bandage, and Cuff and Collar Sling, along with essential survival skills such as compass navigation, map reading, and woodcraft signs.

Chess Club sharpened their minds through friendly matches and championship game analyses, while at Cooking Club children prepared Bread Pakora, Dark Chocolate Shake, French Toast, and later mastered the art of making soft whole-wheat chapatis. Our Literature Club added thoughtful depth with meaningful discussions on Afghani literature, particularly exploring the lives of women under Taliban rule, broadening students’ perspectives and empathy. Together, these clubs created a perfect balance of hands-on learning, creativity, and reflection.
