  • 6 December 2021

Oakridge International School, Bachupally has always been at the forefront, in imparting education at its best to society. The month of November at Oakridge was a cherishing time with the Managing Director, Nord Anglia Education, India – Mr. Brian Cooklin. It was a celebration as he is just not a leader par excellence but a guiding light and a backbone for the Oakridge schools pan India.

Celebration with gratification with Mr. Brian

The visit started with invoking God’s blessings, followed by a meeting with the Senior Leadership and the pedagogical Leadership Team. Senior students and the Student Council had an opportunity to interact with Mr. Brian and ask a few questions to know his experiences. The Prefect heads liaised with him and ensured that he got a glimpse of the segment. Students especially liked his visits to the classrooms and being a part of teaching and learning and also sharing his experiences. Mr. Brain spent quality time with learners as they shared their classroom learning experiences. The showcase of the affinity club was a unique experience for our Managing Director as it showcased the development of skills in all the students, in the form of the Oak affinity club. The Visual art presentation was lauded by him. He also proved himself an entity of energy, a powerhouse, as he joined the music team, tapped his legs to the beat, and danced to the rhythm.

To spread awareness and exhibit the importance and learning from Global Campus, an assembly was conducted by the students across early years to Grade 10. This was followed by a much-awaited meeting with parents where the Nord philosophy, mission, and vision were discussed.

With a sense of pride, we showcased our Indian culture with graceful dance movements, orchestra, and street play portraying the reverence shown by the students towards all elders.

Role plays conducted in the Global perspectives showcase and Science experiments conducted by senior segment students, grabbed everyone’s attention. Students also presented their brilliant science experiments and models to explain the aim, working process, and hypothesis. Children from the primary segment demonstrated fitness through Mass Drill and their learning of STEAM and MIT through a mini showcase. OISB once again proved that the responsibility of the school community is not just limited to providing academic excellence to students but also to create an atmosphere where students are at peace and feel emotionally secure, where they understand and experience a fear-free atmosphere and the confidence to express, experiment, discover, even falter but relearn and unlearn.

An activity-filled week concluding with a studio by our CEO was a cherishing experience. We will take up the inspiration that was kindled in our tenure at OISB to bring about brightness all over.

Mr. Brian conducted a workshop on managing people and shared his views on the success points of building a strong professional relationship among the team members.

The Academic Faculty was elated to interact with Mr. Brian and learn about his experiences and previous achievements in the field of education.

The sessions gave us an opportunity and liberty to become personally inspired to share ideas, talent, and last but not the least, career and strategic goals and plans. In a nutshell, Mr. Brian’s visit was inspiring and a quintessential example of an inspiring role model as he undoubtedly checked each of the boxes in spades.

“Great leaders don’t set out to be leaders. They set out to make a difference. It’s never about the role – always about the goal. This quote stands true with Mr. Brian and we are privileged to be a part of his team.”

A memorable experience!

Employee Wellbeing

Sports impart the essential skills of teamwork, team spirit, cooperation, health, and fitness. It is a powerful medium that can bring employees together as a tight-knit team. Ditching a usual lazy Saturday, the Academic and administration team participated in the sports day conducted exclusively for the staff. A day-long event consisting of interactive, fun, and engaging activities like Zumba, relay race and more, resulted in a highly rejuvenated and productive team, walking out of the arena!
