Dear Parents

April has been a month of both beginnings and beautiful closures at Oakridge International School, Visakhapatnam. As we stepped into a new academic year, our campus filled with fresh energy, new connections, and a renewed sense of purpose.

This month also gave us moments to pause and celebrate. From the vibrant spirit of Spring Fiesta that brought our entire community together, to the Graduation of the Class of 2026 marking the culmination of years of learning and growth, each moment carried its own significance.

Our students continued to inspire us beyond the classroom, whether through global opportunities like the MIT Nord Anglia STEAM collaboration, leading meaningful conversations on social impact through the Peer Talk Series, or demonstrating environmental responsibility on Earth Day.

We also take immense pride in the outstanding university offers earned by our students, reflecting their dedication and the strength of our learning environment.

As you read through this edition, you will find stories of joy, achievement, curiosity, and connection, all of which define the Oakridge experience.

Warm regards,
Shaila Bhamidipati
Principal
Oakridge International School, Visakhapatnam

Spring Fiesta

Some days stay with you long after they end. Spring Fiesta was one of them.

From the moment the gates opened, the campus came alive with a kind of energy only a community coming together can create. Children moved from one game to another with endless excitement, while families paused over food, conversations, and shared moments.

The Art and STEAM exhibitions reflected curiosity and creativity at its best, and the magic performance created moments that made everyone stop, watch, and applaud.

It was a day of connection, movement, and memories quietly being made.

Graduation: Class of 2026

Years of small, ordinary days came together into something that felt anything but ordinary.

The Class of 2026 leaves not just with achievements, but with values, questions, and memories that will continue to shape them. What they carry forward goes beyond the classroom: a sense of self, resilience, and the ability to navigate what lies ahead.

There is excitement in their eyes, a little uncertainty in their hearts, and endless possibility before them. Once a part of Oakridge, always connected to it.

MIT Global STEAM Week 2026

We are proud to share that Abhay Saket from Grade 9 has been selected for the MIT  STEAM trip this November.

After earning his place through an outstanding project focused on harnessing solar and wind energy for sustainable electricity, Abhay will join students from over 50 Nord Anglia schools worldwide.

His journey reflects curiosity, commitment, and the drive to create solutions that matter.

New Academic Year: A Strong Start

The new academic year began with warmth, connection, and a sense of belonging.

Parents engaged with teachers to understand the learning journey ahead, while students and families participated in activities designed to build comfort and connection from the very beginning.

In these first few days, the foundation has already been set: one of trust, collaboration, and joyful learning.

Student Voice: Peer Talk Series

Our students stepped onto a global platform to lead conversations that matter.

Aishwarya from Grade 12 and Vibha from DP 1 hosted a Peer Talk as part of Nord Anglia Education’s global series, presenting their social impact initiative Ekatmika.

Their work addresses menstrual hygiene awareness and access among adolescent girls through education, outreach, and open dialogue.

By sharing their work with a global audience, they are not just participating, they are leading change.

Earth Day: From Awareness to Action

Through assemblies, discussions, and student-led initiatives, the campus came together on Earth Day to reflect on sustainability and take meaningful action.

Every small choice, every conversation, and every initiative reinforced a shared responsibility towards the planet.

Guest Lecture

Learning came alive through experience for Grade 5 during a guest session by Dr. M. Sharanya, pulmonologist.

Through a hands-on demonstration, students gained a clear understanding of how the respiratory system functions. The session explored the structure of the lungs, their role in the body, and the importance of maintaining respiratory health.

By connecting theory to real-world understanding, the session made science tangible and memorable.

Boarding Life

Boarding at Oakridge continues to offer a balanced and enriching experience.

Students engage in a variety of clubs including movie, cooking, art, and chess, along with monthly outings that add exploration to their routine. Structured morning and evening physical activities promote well-being, while guided prep time ensures academic support.

It is an environment designed to nurture independence, creativity, and overall development.
