Dear Parents,
Curiosity, creativity, and compassion came alive at the school this month through discovery, expression, and community engagement. From nurturing global perspectives at OISV MUN to celebrating the joy of Children’s Day, from the energetic spirit of our Sports Fest to the excitement of launching our new STEAM Lab, our learners demonstrated once again that education flourishes when minds are encouraged to explore and imaginations are given room to grow.
What makes this month even more special is the strength of our partnerships and values in action. Guest lectures, hands-on learning experiences across grades, and the commitment shown by our students on and off the field all reflect the heart of who we are as a school.
As we continue to nurture both the minds and the character of our learners, I’m reminded that each experience, whether joyful, challenging, or transformative, shapes their journey forward.

University Placements
Our learners continue to make us proud as they receive offers from some of the world’s most respected universities. Hrithik from IBDP 2 has earned a place at the prestigious University of Melbourne, ranked 19 in the QS World Rankings, where he will pursue a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics. Joining him is his classmate Surya Tej, who has also been admitted into the University of Melbourne to pursue a BSc in Physics.
Mahalakshmi from IBDP 2 has secured offers from the University of Pittsburgh and University of Minnesota to pursue Chemical Engineering. Adding to this string of successes, Ithihas from DP 2 has been accepted into the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, one of the top six universities in the UAE, for a degree in Computer Science Engineering.
We are incredibly proud of the journeys they are about to begin, and we look forward to celebrating many more milestones in the months ahead.
Global Exposure at MIT
Mahalakshmi and Shaili from Grade 9 had an inspiring experience during their week-long trip to MIT. The STEAM Week included campus tours, workshops, interactions with researchers, and collaborative projects with students from other NAE schools. It was a powerful opportunity to explore innovation at the highest level.
STEAM Lab is now open!
A major highlight this month was the inauguration of our brand-new STEAM Lab. Families joined us as young innovators tried their hands at creative challenges and experiments. The new space marks an important step in promoting imagination, problem solving, and future-ready skills.
Strengthening Safety and Care
Our staff participated in POSH, POCSO and Health and Safety training sessions this month. These workshops reinforced our commitment to creating a secure, supportive environment for every Oakridger and deepened our collective responsibility toward student wellbeing.
Young Diplomats at OISV MUN 2025
Our students from Grades 8 to 12 began the month with confidence at the OISV MUN 2025. They debated global issues and worked collaboratively to develop solutions. The experience strengthened their communication skills and helped them understand the importance of thoughtful dialogue in a global world.
Sports Fest 2025
At our Sports Fest 2025 students from Grade 4 onwards demonstrated their talent in football, basketball, cricket, tennis, taekwondo and swimming. The fields and courts were full of energy as students and parents encouraged the participants as they displayed determination, teamwork and school spirit.
Building Inclusion at Boarding
Our Boarders took part in a meaningful session conducted by our student counsellor on Respecting Diversity and Inclusion. Through conversations, reflections and role play, students explored what it means to value differences. The session concluded with a Harmony Pledge Circle where each learner promised one thoughtful action to make boarding life more caring and inclusive.
Clubs at Boarding
Boarding students continued to enjoy their weekend clubs, where learners explored cooking, practiced safety skills in First-Aid Management, immersed themselves in stories and quizzes, and sharpened their thinking in Chess Club. Every club meeting brought new learning, teamwork, and confidence.
Children’s Day and World Children’s Day Celebrations
Children’s Day was all about celebration and excitement as teachers surprised learners with a special assembly featuring songs, dances and a light hearted skit. The celebration continued with games and activities that made the day unforgettable.
On World Children’s Day, students reflected on the importance of child rights and kindness. The thoughtful activities and donation drive encouraged students to share and care, reminding everyone that every child deserves safety and opportunity.
Strengthening Home-School Connections
The Red Day for our Early Years learners brought parents into their children’s classrooms where tiny hands guided them through messy crafts, playful learning, and sweet moments of discovery.
Our Grade 2 students also welcomed parents during the Open Classroom session, where our students explored the colour changing celery experiment. Watching the colours rise through the stems created wonder and curiosity for both learners and parents.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Our students enjoyed enriching field trips this month. During their visit to Maaya World, learners explored the concept of reflection of light through mirror mazes, kaleidoscope tunnels, neon rooms, and infinity chambers. Each space made scientific concepts fun, clear and memorable. Our young ones had a delightful trip to the zoo where they observed animals closely and learned about habitats, behaviours and the importance of caring for wildlife.
Guest Lectures
The month included several engaging sessions from our parents and teachers that broadened our students’ understanding. Dr. Anusha led an insightful session on healthy eating habits while Dr. Harshitha conducted a fascinating session on human organs. As part of the Global Perspectives curriculum, Ms. Sai Lakshmi captivated Grade 3 students with a traditional Harikatha performance filled with storytelling and music.
We also welcomed Ms. Paromita who guided students through a thoughtful discussion on being responsible. As part of our Kindness Month celebrations, Ms. Sireesha and Ms. Usha Madhavi shared inspiring stories that encouraged empathy and compassion in simple everyday actions.
Kindness Month at Oakridge
Kindness took centre stage this November. Our Grade 4 students created thoughtful posters on being kind to everyone and visited classrooms to spread their message.
Kindness Trees blossomed with heart shaped leaves documenting daily acts of kindness. Our young learners built their Friendly Wall using decorated red bricks to show how every child plays a special role in the class community. Children also undertook tree plantations, kind activities at home, filled kindness jars, and explored books that encouraged empathy through reviews and discussions.
Character Dress Up: Stories Come Alive
Our Early Years learners charmed everyone during their Character Dress Up Show and Tell. From superheroes to fairytale favourites, each child stepped into their chosen character with confidence and joy.
A Spooktacular Halloween
Halloween brought a burst of excitement as learners arrived in creative costumes and filled the corridors with laughter. Classrooms turned into fun activity zones, children poured their imagination into spooky crafts, and enjoyed a day where joy came alive in every corner.
Alphabet hunt
Our little explorers set off for alphabet hunt, an adventure where they found and matched the alphabets. This activity helped our students learn letters through fun, hands-on exploration.
Celebrating Sports Achievements
We are proud of our young athletes who represented the school with dedication. Joshua, Rithika, and Aanya were selected for the State Level U-17 Basketball Championship organised by the School Games Federation of India, with the girls’ team securing third place. P. Reyansh Varma has been selected to participate in the 100m Mixed Freestyle and 100m Medley events at the National-Level Swimming Competition under the Under-14 category, to be held in New Delhi by SGFI.
Meanwhile, Jeswitha secured the Best Performance Award at the South India Juniors Hard Tennis Tournament. And Akshath earned a spot in the Vizianagaram U-14 District Cricket Team after a strong performance in his selection matches.
