Oakridgers showcased their exceptional talents at the 17th founders’ day celebration

Over 200 students of Oakridge International School, Gachibowli, enthralled the audience with a 75-minute play at the 17th Founders’ Day celebration of the school in Hyderabad, recently. With each students essaying a specific character, the play titled “Angelic Horizon”, based on Paro Anand’s popular fairy tale Wingless came alive on stage in a captivating manner. The talented kids shouldered their responsibilities with ease and delivered the epic tale in an enthralling fashion.

At the center of the story is a princess angel who was born without wings in heaven and how her parents, the king and queen of heaven, smuggle her out of heaven to earth to find her a home and experiences various adventures on their way. The climax of the play, when the baby angel unites both heaven and earth with her special and unique nature, mesmerized every single person in the audience.

“The play stressed on the inclusion of all society. It encouraged the audience to respect differences, to be appreciative of the uniqueness of all and to be tolerant. Through its simple theme, the play conveyed to the audience the need to allow everyone to appreciate the treasure within oneself,” says Arjun Rao, Principal of the School.

Besides the play, the student showcased an array of talents with many entertaining acts such as orchestra presentation, choir singing, Indian classical dances, and other singing performances. Ajay Mishra, Special Chief Secretary of Energy Department, Government of Telangana was the Chief Guest for the event.
