“Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow.” – Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
“Children’s day”- The very word conjures a sense of excitement and a day full of fun-filled activities. This exact essence was replicated here at Oakridge Newton Campus, one of the top International Schools in Gachibowli.
The students recalled the historical angle of how and why children’s day came into existence and the spirit of ‘Chacha Nehru’s’ love for children was reiterated to them – wherein the fact that ‘They are the future of the nation’ was reiterated to them.
The 129th birth anniversary of our country’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru kick-started with a pleasant surprise for the kids when they were welcomed by their teachers in the decorated classrooms, vibrant with colorful balloons and more.
They were treated to exuberant dances and performances by teachers in the Junior segment and, with goodies and exciting videos in the senior segment.
Interesting games were designed by the PE teams for them and children cherished all the wonderful goodies teachers brought for them.
There were the puppet show, magic show and pottery making organized for the tiny tots and they had an amazing time at the jumping castle arranged at the campus.
Subsequent to this they were treated to a whole lot of activities organized for the happy Oakridgers. They were enthralled by the lineup of activities and when they felt they had a pretty good day, little did they know that they would be treated to a special lunch (with finger chips and ice-cream stealing the show) and for a movie thereafter.
The entire atmosphere of a movie theatre was created for the students, replete with popcorn and muffins for each student.
The students had a great time and surely have a memory to cherish.
