Oakridge’s Social Impact Project Receives Charitable Fund

Nord Anglia Education, a premium international schools group announced that it has awarded over US$150,000 from its latest round of funding to ten new student-led social impact projects. A key element of Nord Anglia’s education strategy is to help students develop their sense of purpose and global citizenship as they create and lead community impact initiatives.

With investment from Nord Anglia’s Charitable Giving Grants, students will use the funding to expand and enhance their community activities, aligned to addressing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

After ‘EduGrow’, an initiative by Oakridge Gachibowli, our school from Visakhapatnam was awarded grants from Nord Anglia Education in its latest round of funding. Out of the ten proposals which were awarded grants, ‘Ocean Conservation’ at Oakridge International School Visakhapatnam is the one. This will address a pressing environmental issue by supporting regular beach clean-ups.

All of the proposals were evaluated by the Student Advisory Board and Charitable Giving Committee, led by Education Advisory Board member Dr Jane Gaskell, with the aim of deepening the impact our students’ projects make on the Sustainable Development Goals.

Congratulations to all the selected schools across the world, and we appreciate the students who are passionate about using these projects to make our world a better, safer, and cleaner place.
