The Power of School Events: Shaping Young Futures at Oakridge Mohali
- 27 October 2025
There are moments in school life that go far beyond books and classrooms — moments that stay in a child’s heart forever. The Annual Concert 2025 – “Drishtikon: A Vision to Lead” at Oakridge International School, Mohali, was one such experience.
It wasn’t just a performance; it was a celebration of courage, creativity, and the power of education.
This year’s production, “The Village Girl,” told the inspiring story of Nimmo, a bright young girl from a small Punjabi village who dares to challenge stereotypes and follow her dreams through education.
Through graceful dance sequences, soulful songs, and a moving storyline, students beautifully portrayed her journey from silence to self-belief — reminding everyone that empowering one girl can uplift an entire community.
The evening began with a lively Lohri celebration, filling the stage with music, laughter, and colour. The atmosphere turned emotional as the story unfolded through heartfelt performances, live instrumental music, and songs that spoke of strength and hope.
At Oakridge, every stage performance is much more than an act. It’s a chance for students to express themselves, overcome fear, and build confidence.
Events like Drishtikon play a huge role in shaping young minds, teaching them teamwork, empathy, and perseverance. From tiny tots to senior students, every Oakridger stepped onto the stage with pride — proving that talent shines brightest when nurtured with care and encouragement.
Watching even the youngest children perform fearlessly in front of a packed audience was a powerful reminder of how early exposure to such platforms builds independence, resilience, and leadership.
Drishtikon 2025 truly reflected Oakridge’s vision — to create learners who think beyond boundaries and lead with empathy.
It reminded everyone that education is not only about grades or achievements but about growth — of mind, heart, and character.

As the curtains closed to thunderous applause, one message lingered — when children are given the freedom to express, question, and create, they don’t just perform… they discover who they are meant to be.
At Oakridge, moments like these, shape not just students, but the leaders of tomorrow.
