Dear Parents,

June has been a beautiful beginning — a month filled with renewed energy, joyful reunions, and inspiring moments. Whether it was the excitement of welcoming our students back after the break or the pride of seeing our learners shine on global platforms — the spirit of Oakridge has never felt more alive.

At every level, from our youngest learners to our graduating seniors, we are reminded that growth comes in many forms — through learning, through kindness, and through the courage to explore. It is this spirit that defines our school and carries us forward as a community.

As we look ahead to the new term, I am filled with gratitude and hope. Together, let’s continue to nurture curiosity, build confidence, and celebrate every step of our children’s journey.

Warm regards,
Shaila Bhamidipati
Principal
Oakridge International School, Visakhapatnam

Cambridge Checkpoint Stars Shine Bright

Our students delivered stellar performances in the Cambridge Checkpoint 2025 assessments. In Lower Secondary, Jenyaa Saladula achieved a perfect score in English, Math, and Science — a rare and exceptional feat. In Primary, Kalyani Jha scored a perfect 50/50 in Science. These results reflect both the hard work of our learners and the strength of our academic foundation.

Welcome Back, Oakridgers

The school came alive as students returned, filling corridors with joy and laughter. The biggest surprise? A delightful ice cream treat that added a spark of joy to their day and was met with squeals of excitement. Curated welcome-back activities helped ease them into the term, fostering friendships and shared wonder. Here’s to a term bursting with discovery, growth, and moments that matter.

Changemakers at the NAE Summit in Houston

Our students at the NAE Summit in Houston had an unforgettable experience, engaging in powerful sessions on leadership, sustainability, and global citizenship. They collaborated with peers from across the world, attended informative sessions with UNICEF and the World’s Largest Lesson, and explored real-world issues through dialogue and action.

A highlight of the summit was their visit to NASA — a dream come true that sparked awe and curiosity about space and innovation. They also visited the Houston Museum of Natural Sciences, diving into exhibits and a thrilling science-themed treasure hunt. At the Houston Food Bank, our students volunteered in quality checks and packaging, gaining insight into food sustainability and community impact. Their presentation of Ekatmika — a purposeful, student-led project earned heartfelt appreciation and reinforced the power of youth-driven change.

Oakridgers at NUS

Students from Grades 9 and 10 had the unique opportunity to attend the AI & Machine Learning Immersion Program at the National University of Singapore. They engaged with real-world applications of AI, collaborated with peers from across the globe, and built future-ready skills guided by world-class faculty — making this an unforgettable step forward in their STEAM journey

Global Campus Art Competition

Grade 8 student Shruthi brought immense pride to Oakridge by winning the Nord Anglia Education Global Campus Art Competition for her piece, “Illusion.” Her artwork, reflecting the theme Light & Dark, stood out among 142 entries from 58 schools worldwide.

Following her win, Shruthi and fellow young artists participated in a live virtual masterclass with guest judge Ms. Laura Watkins. During the class, Ms. Laura shared insights into her creative process and encouraged our young artists to discover and express their unique voices through art.

Building Block Competition

Our youngest learners from Early Years to Grade 2 unleashed their imagination at the Building Block Competition. With tiny hands and big ideas, they transformed simple blocks into cozy homes and dream castles — cheered on by our ever-supportive parent judges. It was a heartwarming celebration of early learning and creativity.

Learning by Doing

Our youngest learners have been joyfully exploring the world around them through hands-on activities focused on sense organs, sequencing numbers, table manners, and healthy eating habits. These early lessons, taught through play and interaction, are helping them build awareness, empathy, and everyday life skills — laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Extending Kindness Beyond Campus

Our IBDP 2 students recently led a heartfelt donation drive. Their collective effort ended up reaching 147 children supported by Lebenshilfe, in association with the Helen Keller Blind School. The clothes donated were received with deep gratitude — a small but powerful gesture that reinforces our commitment to inclusive care and community support.
