Update from the Principal’s Desk | July 2026

  • 22 July 2026

Dear Oakridge Family,

Wishing you all a warm welcome to the Academic Year 2026-27!
Congratulations to our graduates on their IB Diploma results. Four of our students attained scores above 40, and our students achieved an average score of 33.8. We are proud of our students and wish them the best as they begin their new chapters in universities of their choice.

We
are deeply saddened by th
e untimely passing of Ms. Nishtha, o
ur thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones. Last week was a difficult one for our community; however, we are grateful to welcome our learners back to school with the enthusiasm and sense of purpose we had planned for the new academic year.

Nurturing the Human Skills AI Cannot Replace

As a Nord Anglia Education School, we are part of the ‘Think Unprompted’ initiative, focusing on equipping our students with uniquely human capabilities like Metacognition, Emotional Intelligence and Critical Thinking that AI cannot replicate. By collaborating with experts like ‘Project Zero’ at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, we teach students to pause, reflect, and independently question information rather than relying on automated answers. This is also our inspiration to set the tone for learning and growth in the academic year 2026-27:

Inquiry, Initiative, Impact

Inquiry inspires us to ask, explore and understand.

Initiative empowers us to act with ownership and purpose.

Impact reminds us that our choices and actions can improve the lives of others.

A Landmark Step Forward with the launch of the Design Engineer Construct!® Programme

We launched an exciting new chapter with a huge milestone, a first in India, introducing Design Engineer Construct!® (DEC!), the award-winning built environment learning programme created by Class Of Your Own (COYO) and brought to our school through a significant adoption by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Through this pioneering programme, our MYP 3 and 4 students will embark on an immersive learning journey in Design and Visual Arts, developing their knowledge, skills and mindset to create meaningful impact within their communities, inspire new possibilities and lead transformation for a better tomorrow. We were very happy to host industry specialists and our dearest parents at the launch event; your presence made it more valuable.

Building a Stronger Community Through Parent Partnership and Engagement

This year, along with Oak Parent Partners, we will also be looking for parents to join our Social Impact and EDIB team. We would also be delighted to welcome a few volunteers to join us as career experts as well. The Student and Parent Information Form has these options available for you if you’d like to join and contribute to our community.

It has been wonderful to meet many of you during the Meet & Greet; with the return of our students, our community is vibrant and complete once again.

Parents, please block 1st of August as a day to spend at school for the Curriculum Day.

Get a closer look at the exciting journey ahead and discover the enriching experiences, achievements, and opportunities awaiting your child. This will be an excellent opportunity to gain deeper insights into your child’s learning journey and the plans for the year ahead. We are also hosting 25+ universities for a college fair focused on the opportunities available to our students within India. The past editions have been a huge success, and I hope this year’s event will offer valuable insights into the teaching and learning experiences in the year ahead.

Shaping a Year of Purposeful Learning

A new year brings with it new possibilities and a chance to grow in new ways. This year, through our theme, Inquiry. Initiative. Impact., we aspire to nurture learners to ask thoughtful questions, collaborate meaningfully with others, embrace challenges with confidence, and take initiative in their learning. We want our students to move beyond waiting for direction, act with purpose, and create a positive impact in their classrooms, communities, and the world around them.

Remember, every member of our school community is here to support and encourage our learners every step of the way. Together, let us make this academic year one of inspiring learning, meaningful connections, and unforgettable memories.

Best regards,

Ms. Kavita Sukhani
