Our school has initiated Oakridge-Gullak to promote responsibility among the young minds on giving back to the society. Our students varying from primary to senior stages filled their Gullaks with money they earned for the good cause. When asked to reflect on the entire process, kids said that not only we learned how to make a difference, but it also brought happiness in many other ways. Below are a few excerpts:
“I did chores around my parent’s farm during weekends to earn money. This process helped me understand how to nurture and built a love for gardening too.” – Sriram Cheedella
Primary CAS captain Dhruv, stated that the initiative helped him understand the importance of financial management. Dhruv worked on different chores like washing his dad’s car, doing household chores and even contributed the money he received on his birthday for this noble cause.
