Our educators sharing their virtual teaching experiences

Virtual School is an amazing experience to learn and connect, especially in the present scenario. It is preparing the teaching fraternity to be prepared and to continue delivering their contribution to the nation. Also it is making the learners more independent and ready to overcome any challenge that comes in their way to learn and grow. – Ms Ruchi Dhanta

My initial thoughts were that through Virtual School Experience ,the online delivery of a course can be a challenging prospect, as switching from on-site (or brick) to online (or click) is a significant change. However, I experienced that the academic quality and rigor of the course should not be determined by whether it is on-site or online. There is a slight learning curve starting with the first interaction, but I found that with consistent use it became easier and more substantive.

I really appreciate the way my young students have accepted the new way of learning. Their excitement and interest motivates me to conduct interesting  sessions everyday. I must say that no problem can stop us from teaching and learning. Students and parents have taken this up very positively. As a facilitator I enjoy virtual teaching and learning. In today’s technical world, it is the right use and way to move ahead in any adverse situation. – Ms Navpreet Kaur

Online Teaching seemed a farfetched concept but the Virtual School is so much more – it is more encompassing and has enabled us to remain steady in this time of crisis by maintaining a sense of equilibrium in our routines. It has shown the strength of our education system at Oakridge, which believes nothing is above the future of our young guns who will shape our fate in the years to come. Technology has enabled us to replace classroom windows with youtube videos and field trips with interactive presentations. The satisfaction of bringing joy to the innocent souls by giving them something to hold onto during this mayhem, makes up for the efforts that we as teachers are putting in by taking innovative out of the box approaches. – Ms Harshini Madan
