Collection of thoughtful poems

Growing up as a quiet and shy kid, Anusha Banerjee, a 17-year-old has a lot to say, and she knew a perfect way out to express it. She has always been a writer at heart since she began at the age of 10. Her love for reading stories led to the creation of her first book – a collection of 15 poems. She became a professional writer by having her first fictional book on poetry titled ‘ELLIPSIS’ published. In her compelling collection of poems, she exhibits her lyrical genius, hits all the right notes when it comes to literature, life, and pure learning.

Anusha Banerjee’s debut tells thoughtful stories on philosophy and life, making it a truly unique read for poetry lovers everywhere. She explains, “Ellipsis acts like an interlude in an otherwise noisy life, emphasizing the fact that very often the meaning is in the missed. This collection of fifteen poems is for all those who have unknowingly been racing along with a run-on sentence, forgetting to use commas, dashes or find time for an extensive pause in a space seemingly undefined.” She believes that one must “Love the spaces even in one-line stories” and not wait for something big to happen to find happiness.

As a student of Oakridge International School, Gachibowli, she is currently studying Science in Grade 12, intending to pursue a career in Scientific Research alongside writing. “We feel happy and joyful that she could enjoy this sense of freedom to think, doubt, wander and wonder, and find comfort in being herself at Oakridge, a home that was part of her and let her break it a little every day to create space for everything interesting she sought”, says Babita Deou, Class Teacher.

The school has indeed given her the scope and space to spread her wings and sometimes discover her hidden talents through various competitions and activities. When she is not working on her poetries, Anusha can be found curled up reading books or exploring her creative skills like sketching and painting.

Hema Chennupaty, Principal, Oakridge Gachibowli said, “We are very proud of Anusha’s achievement!! She is not only doing very well academically but has carved out time to create this beautiful set of poems. This book shows her maturity and thoughtfulness. At Oakridge, we encourage our students to go after their dreams. To not be afraid to express their thoughts, feelings and ideas. And always encourage them to be creative. This is a collective effort of the hard work of Anusha, encouragement and support of her parents and guidance by her teachers. We wish her all the very best in her future endeavours.
